So today's Sonic's 18th birthday - 18 years since Sonic 1 made its worldwide premiere. Let's hope that his awkward puberty years are over and he'll get a proper career instead of filling odd jobs all over the place.

Of course, it's also Robotnik's birthday (not Eggman's; today's the celebration of the US version's release, not the Japanese one). So, props to him, too.

Before that, they just have to stay content with porno mags, which can legally be bought by children of any age. So when a daddy sends his 7-year old daughter to the store to get some milk, she can just pick up the newest issue Shaved Asian Teens for him at the same time! Everybody wins!

If by chance you were referring to me, when I went through Ngangbius's post, where I found "screwed up" I basically just read as "drugs", hence the rehab remark. For better or for worse, June 23rd has been permanently etched on my brain since 2001.

Look at him. He isn't even trying to look happy. He knows he's screwed, and he's never getting rid of his troubles unless they die or he dies. He's looking at that hole in the cake and seeing himself, an empty, vacant void, who's probably going to get struck with a knife several times and yet will feel nothing at all. He knows he either has no future or he'll be reinvented again, with even longer legs and spines, an even more anorexic stomach and a gaudier art style that doesn't know if it's supposed to be stylized or just outlined with weird gradients which don't even remotely make sense and pretty much became old as soon as they were reused.

And his shoes don't have his name anymore. :(

EDIT: Oh. OH. Now I realised what big_smile meant. The topic was only started on the 24th.

SON OF EDIT: Well I guess it was still the 23rd in Pennsylvania at the time.

I'm a bit more pessimistic...

I think Sonic will fail to make the payments on his summer home in Tiajuanna, causing him to lose most of his money. He'll turn to drugs, alcohol, and loose women to ease the pain of his now-stagnant career. After one particularly hard night of boozing and snorting cocaine, he'll awaken the next morning in a Skid Row YMCA, where a kindly vagrant will help him find Jesus. Spiritually rejuvenated, he'll give a series of lectures across America's junior high schools, along with Crash Bandicoot and Bubsy Bobcat, about the dangers of reckless living. Nevertheless, he'll now be at least 50 pounds overweight, balding, and most likely will have Hepatitus B. He'll die alone and afraid at the age of 53.
