Loud obnoxius critic reviews Sonic cartoons

Post by Team Mecha »

No not that guy, not that one either, the other other cranky guy that has too much free time.

I don't quite get why he praises Ren & Stimpy for their randomness & flames every other show for it.

I grew up on AoStH, watched it religiously, and even I know better than to try and defend it.

I do not see why anyone would care. Anyone who watched it knows what it is, not really much to get into about it.

I did find it oddly hilarious that he acknowledged Sonic Sat AM for turning almost anyone who watched it into a furry.

Sally, anyways. It was like there was another wave when Amy grew tits, and then the final massive one when Rouge and Shadow were unveiled.

...Seriously, why is it that you run into more furries in the Sonic fanbase than anywhere else? Why does this innocuous (until Rouge, anyway) series pervert so many people?

I grew up watching ABC's Sonic the Hedgehog, so I kinda missed out on the AoStH program. Good memories of the former, though.

I know I have the benefit of (at least some) maturity when saying this, but the intro of AoStH has got to be one of the most annoying and egotistical things I've ever seen.

And the intro was the best part of the show!

I watched it, but that was really too long. I guess he is funny, but what is with all the praise for 'Sat AM' ? I would say the reverse is true compared to what he said. Trying to make a cartoon about Sonic serious is just retarded. The characters were all lame, emotional, had nothing to do with the games, lead to Archie, et cetera.

The other show is actually amusing enough to use in the YouTube videos, unlike SatAM. And Robotnik's voice was great in it.

Why is it you run into more tranny cross-dressers in the Final Fantasy fanbase than anywhere else? It is just so random and unexpected considering the franchise's content, right?

Do not even get me started on why people who watch Gundam like robots. So strange.

That video makes me cringe. The guy's attempts at humour are horribly forced, I only watched for a couple of minutes but the only thing I got from it was the desire to scream at him to shut the fuck up.

Both "Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog" and "Sonic the Hedgehog" were severely flawed (to put it diplomatically), but had their charms. Sonic Underground on the other hand appears to be universally loathed!

No kidding! "Sonic! He's the fastest thing alive! He's the fastest thing aliiive!"

Concerning the furrie controversy, I honestly didn't know it was that big of a deal until a few months ago. I guess in any fan-group, you're going to have a small percentage of members who take things too far. And since the Sonic fanbase is so large, the pervo-furrie minority is still going to be a noticable force. As long as what they have isn't contagious, I don't really care about furries either way.

I think in those early pubescent years young minds will latch onto whatever they have available to fuel their developing sexual interest. And it certainly doesn't help when the writers actively draw your attention to romantic relationships in the story. I remember seeing topics on message boards around 9 years ago discussing Peach or Bulma or whatever characters were relevant at the time. I guess kids that age are more inclined to fantasize about whatever relatively attractive figures are in their everyday lives than about random models in porn (especially in those days when porn wasn't so readily available to curious adolescents). In all seriousness I can remember looking at that 59x58 image of Katt Monroe's head in Starfox 64 when I was 13 and being aroused. So if, say, you play a lot of Zelda 64 you'll probably end up fantasizing about Saria, Malon, and Nabooru, and if you play a lot of Sonic Heroes you've got nothing to look at but Amy, Rouge, and Cream.

That said, Sonic does seem to have a supernatural pension for inspiring impressionable minds. Maybe the new art style is just more inclined in that direction than other cartoons, appealing to something subconscious.

I agree with Frieza. Somewhat Freudian, I guess.

Also, a video thread? Come on, guys.

We are not allowed to talk about videos?

Please mention why.

Shadow Hog: that does not compare to the AoStH ones, like Robotnik's Tea Party. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fLFnBFvU4w

They don't want to fuck the robots, though. Well, most of them, anyways.

My point wasn't that it was better than the AoStH poops - just that it could just as easily be pooped.

And "It's From the Show" is so much better than "Robotnik's Tea Party". Or, if you prefer, anything Boogidyboo does is a better example.

What about the underaged skinny boys with purple hair who are in the robots, though?

Bah, I thought there was an entry in the rules against YouTube, but it turns out to be only against Flash and webcomics. My bad.

I'm pretty sure a bunch of people want to fuck underage skinny boys without ever watching anime.

So those people just accidently end up watching the cartoons sometimes.

Kogen, m'boy... I take it you've never heard of NAMBLA... Lemme just say it's at least ten times as worse as the furries.

I think Sonic Underground was more ignored than hated.

I preferred 'The Adventures of' to whatever abbreviation the other one got. Mostly 'cause I prefer anarchism to drama, and have severe ADD.

Underground has Knuckles, at least.

As for fetishes, I can see how they're started, but to parade them around is just vulgar. "I'M A FURRY! ACCEPT ME!" Really comes off more as attention whoring.

I think they don't really know they're acting that way. They think everyone's just chipper with the fact that they claim they've married Sonic.
