Seems to point to an announcement on February 24th . First thing I thought of was that Naka's Mascot Game people have been talking about, but it can't be right...Can it ?

Seems like a shitty Sonic rip-off. I hope it is not what Naka is making.

They got to stop these ambiguous teaser trailers. not just sega but all game developers. If they can't even show any of the game they should not even bother making it.

Nintendo doesn't make ambiguous / gaudy interactive flash sites for their game releases, do they?

No, they just spend years without saying a thing while announcing Wii Fits and Wii Sports Resorts and Play on Wiis.

You know it all stems from some guy at a desk demanding viral advertising because he's heard the term a lot and doesn't want to seem like he doesn't know what it means.

No, it stems from results. We probably wouldn't be looking forward to details on this or Pole's Quest if it wasn't for Sega not announcing much of anything and giving us time to speculate on it.

The guy at the desk knows what he's doing.

Viral advertising is the absolute worst kind of advertising there is, because it's literally impossible to not be interested in an ambiguous website featuring a countdown and an image that vibrates when you mouse over it. Sega's burnt us all so many times in the past, and the world still cares. No one had any clue what Eon8 was, but it sure as hell didn't stop an odd million people from hailing it as some sort of terrorist plot (Spoiler: Had the Rickroll been in vogue at the time, it almost certainly would've been featured on the page to follow).

Also, I see now that it's since been converted into a forum of sorts, and I'm sure it's accumulated a few hundred thousand members by now on account of registration being made mandatory for it's viewing. It's the world's first perpetual trolling machine.

Welp, it's March 24 now and the site finally updated: http://sega.jp/project_ringo/

...with yet another teaser, this time for next week's issue of Famitsu. Way to go, SEGA! XD Oh well, at least it looks it it really is the next Puyo Puyo title.

Although it seems to be from the same character designer, I don't see anything that unarguably gives it up as the next Puyo Puyo game. I mean, they still have that stupid, cryptic math thing there.

And wasn't Tecmo's game supposed to be Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2?

Actually, the cryptic math relates to the upcoming title. A member from another mb pointed this out:
24^2-47*7 = 247
4(24+38)-1 = 247
777-530 = 247

"What's mean 247?"

In Japan they like wordplay on numbers (goroawase) and after fiddling around a bit I came to the conclusion that it could be read as Puyo 7.

This is not the first time they've puns like that for the Puyo Puyo series.

ぷよぷよ通 is read as Puyo Puyo Tsuu - which sounds like Puyo Puyo 2.

The third game is called ぷよぷよSUN where SUN sounds like "san", the japanese word for three.

The fourth part is called ぷよぷよ〜ん where they've added an n after yo. "yon" means four.

The fiftth part in the series is called Puyo Puyo Fever where フィーバー (Fever) can be read as Fiver.

Then there's Fever 2 - which I'm not sure if they ever used a pun for, but I guess that's the 6th part in the series, which leaves:

247... Puyo 7.
Not to mention in the flash teaser that was originally posted that the lead character from Puyo Puyo Fever is outside in the background with a Puyo floating around, and the apple-tossing girl is wearing a puyo barrette in her hair.
