I thought that person outside the window looked familiar. This game could end up being a puyo pop teaches math game.

So, it's okay for me to forfeit all interest I might've had in this game entirely, right? Will do!

Any particular reason why we're spoilering all this?
Fever 2 was technically Fever Chuu which is japanese for something cute and adorable although I forget precisely what. Anyway there was a mode named after it that existed for the sole purpose of justifying the title and was never spoken of again.

Was I the only one who bought 15th Anniversary? And if not, did anyone else think it sucked? The art style was ugly and the new modes were completely unnecessary gimmicks, plus the story mode lacked any sort of charm and felt like a massive fanwank that nobody asked for. Actually that last bit pretty much summarises the entire game.

Where are you supposed to go with sequels to puzzle games, anyway?

Puyo Tsuu is the best in the series. It's not like anything's changed since then, except some throwaway gimmicks and the steady deterioration of the art direction.

I absolutely loathe the Fever art style.

Why are we spoiler tagging this thread?

Made you look.

I did always think Rulue was pretty hot, though.

And Suketoudara.

And maybe Skeleton-T. Sometimes.

My heater smells like piss. Why is that?

I'm just following on Ngangbius' steps.

And, actually I didn't notice all that stuff the first time I watched it (since, you know, I couldn't care less but still check it out anyways). So yeah, it's most probably the 7th title (after all, I don't think you can get any closer to a Japanese 1337 speech equivalent of Puyo other than Tsuu-Yon)... there's no doubt in my mind now, SEGA executives are that stupid and desperately looking into ways to get people all worked up with expectation for something noone cares about.

Maybe the 247 is a hint at it being a Wii Ware title (Wii connect 24). It's a stretch I know. I'd probably buy an online PuyoPuyo though.

Big surprise.

PuyoPuyo 7 for DS, Wii, and PSP. And it's online.

Both Fever and 15th were online. There was just no online support outside of Japan. Until this gets a worldwide release date you probably shouldn't get your hopes up.

I don't really see the relevence of keeping us all in suspense for what turns out to be yet another edition of the same game. I mean, I like Puyo Puyo and all, but its just as entertaining to me on the Sega Genesis* as I'm sure it is on the latest systems.

*Well, actually, Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine on Sonic Mega Collection... Exactly how undigified should I feel?

Puyo Puyo Tsuu is vastly superior to Mean Bean Machine, and not just aesthetically either. The game mechanics are very different and it's much more well balanced and challenging.

http://puyo.sega.jp/puyopuyo7/

The gimmick this time around is that characters can change the size of their puyos either smaller or larger (this also appears to change the characters themselves into baby/adult versions respectively). The larger puyos seem to be taken directly from 15th's Large Puyo mode, which was unwieldy and entirely unpleasant.

Confirmed characters: Arle, Amitie, Andou Ringo (main character), Skeleton-T (!). Art style is still firmly in Fever territory, although the adaptation of Madou-era characters looks slightly better than 15th. This one will only be for Wii, DS, and PSP.

At least the Puyo hentai community will enjoy it.

Sega is releasing a Virtual Console PuyoPuyo with online play in Japan this spring for 800 Wii Points. I'm hoping for a US release too.

Both 15th Anniversary* and PP7 had online play. Even for the VC, I wouldn't hold my breath.

(* suprisingly great game. try the fan translation)

Was 7 on the Wii online? 15th Anniversary wasn't, so this might be the first online Wii version. You can also play Fever online using a virtual private network.
