As a non-american with very little understanding of this "thanking and giving" feast that you odd, exotic people practice, im just wondering; is that whole thing with indians giving food and stuff to european settlers a historic event that actually happened, or just plain old balony?

Re: Turkey Day, motherfucker.
I actually celebrated Thanksgiving with my mom's side of the family a few weeks ago.
I woke up on the verge of loosing my voice, so I stayed home while the rest of the family eats the usual turkey dinner at my aunt's house. It's chicken-noodle soup and left over pizza for me...

Meh, a little. Some articles have big boy words. And pictures of scary bugs and gross naked people. But thanks for the link anyway.Delphine wrote:Is Wikipedia difficult for other people?
So, the friendly indian legend is true then, huh? Well, the europeans certainly made a good trade there; "for the mere price of the secret to successfully sowing the new world crops, we'll give you a whole bunch of virus diseases! (Immunity against them sold separately)".

Shoot, for that price, I think I'd have bought one too, and I've already got two 360's!
What's your Xbox Live ID? I'm Green Gibbon, but my 360 is still an ocean away at the moment.

Ugh, & I just had to buy that arcade for $200 in September. -_-
Not that I would've had the money anyway what with all the damn relatives with the broken down cars or no homes.

I have/had mono, so I slept through Black Friday.
Incidentally, I had turkey with spanish rice for Thanksgiving.

I slept in, then worked until close. I called in sick, but my boss said that I could lose my job for not coming in because everyone else was scheduled to work that day and there was no one to cover for me. The same thing happened on Saturday, even though we weren't nearly as busy.

You're NOT going to fit well here.
By the way, is it possible to tell if you're eating turkey or chicken just by the taste? I've never noticed the difference.

Re: Turkey Day, motherfucker.
I always figured turkey is where the phrase "tastes like chicken" originated.
Re: Turkey Day, motherfucker.
I dunno. Turkey seems a tad thicker and richer to me. I prefer chicken anyway. The animal it comes from is considerably less stupid.

Re: Turkey Day, motherfucker.
Fowl generally has varying degrees of gaminess, richness, and tenderness, while usually staying within the same realm of taste and texture.
Generally, the fatter the bird, the more desirable (in terms of flavor) the meat is.

I can tell the difference between chicken and turkey--I can tolerate chicken while I HATE turkey.
