p.s. I completely forgot this thread had turned into a discussion on Prop 8, my bad. Oddly enough, I went back and looked at it, and I find myself making the same arguments I've already made in the same thread. Dear everybody: read this whole thing again! It was actually pretty good!

I've read through it a couple of times. The arguments are quite good but only on one side, as is generally the case on an issue this straightforward.

He's become a little derpherp when it comes to politics the last couple of years because of certain people he hangs around with... But it keeps our little discussions interesting at least.
Delphine wrote:p.s. "strong anti-gay black culture"? lol racism lol. Statistically, even if every single black person who voted, voted yes on Prop 8, that wouldn't have been the deciding factor. It was white people who voted yes on Prop 8. White people who made this happen. Don't believe that Dan Savage racist msm bullshit.
Yeesh...

What I said before is the general perception on how things played out. But I know general perception is wrong all the time. So I tried to look for a legitimate source that says that there's more homophobia in the black community than that of whites or other racial groups and couldn't really find anything (the closest I found was a study that said that black women might be more cautious of gay rights than white women). My bad...

And while it might have been racism that started and spread the idea that blacks or Latinos are to blame for Prop 8 passing, I don't think it's racist to say, "The majority of (ethnic group) believes ___________________________," when it's entirely true and can be backed up.

That's nice, but it kind of is. Look man, we all screw up and say ignorant shit, but don't try to defend it, y'know? Just try not to say it again. Same thing I do.

Poor Gr4yj4y forgot that you cannot criticize Negroes without suddenly becoming the Grand Wizard.

From my knowledge of older blacks in the US, a lot do seem to be serious Christians which of course leads to this opinion. I do not think it is unlikely that they did vote in mass against it just as European Christians did. Mexicans also tend to be Roman Catholic, so I can see them being against it too.

I assure you it's not racist. Maybe you have a more open-ended view than me of what is considered racist and what's not. Obviously data can be skewed to show what the presenter wants it to show, but to say that white people tend to buy a certain kind of detergent over another is not racist. It's just a statistic. And the statistic is useful because there are certain trends amongst the races in America.

This kind of attitude reminds me of the time I was at a fast food place that had mostly black people in it and someone said something about the Dark World from A Link to the Past. And someone in my group insisted that we leave immediately because of that.

As The GHZ's sole extant negro (haven't seen Dub or Ngangbius in a while), it is my sworn duty to play the mediator in racial disputes. I will now evaluate the moral legitimacy of the claims of all parties involved. Buffering...

Not racist. Now, if he were arguing that blacks were genetically predisposed toward gay hate- which he obviously isn't- that'd be racist. As it stands, it's more of a matter of culture, which seems to be free game when it comes to slinging shit. No less odious than claiming that hip-hop is most popular among black youth, which is pretty true (as well it should be, when the genre was a direct byproduct of black culture!).

I am not sure where you get the idea that you are the lone Negro of justice here. Dr. BUGMAN is a jigaboo and a doctor. So step aside, boy; let a real man do the talkin'.

Kinda related: if you happen to be homosexual, happen to want to get married and also happen to want to go on one hell of a trip to one of the world's southernmost inhabitable lands, then you can do it all over here, too.
