I was going to make a derisive comment, but then I saw the rhino-headed missile and decided I want this game more than lunch right now.

I tried playing Earthbound once. I made it up to the guy with the knives, got decimated, and decided to never touch the game again.

Yep!

Not very high. I didn't feel like having to grind that early in the game, so I shelved it and never looked back.

Mother began as a Dragon Quest ripoff at heart, so having to grind a bit as you go is unavoidable. If you feel like trying again (please do, you're missing out), refer to this.

I noticed this on the site and almost immediatlely pre-ordered it. The care they're putting into this looks very professional and I'm kind of glad to see something like this being released!

Nice unpleasant suprise after I downloaded it: mother3_windows.exe refused to run on my ancient Windows 98 SE rig. Having a laptop with Vista detoured around that nicely, but.

Very slick so far. All I can complain about is the kinda thin enemy variety through the first couple acts of chapter 1, and my old hardware for making VBA lag 10-15% in fights.

I never knew GBA sprites could show so much emotion.

Interesting side news, Tomato's decided to pursue a re-translation of Mother 1, using the GBA version (Mother 1+2). Says it's been infinitely easier to rearrange than #3, but GBA Earthbound is completely out of his hands.
