P.P.A.'s SEGA Holidays

Post by P.P.A. »

Yeah, I've been in the Netherlands for a bit more than a week now and came across various arcades richly filled with SEGA machines. Now I present to you the photos I took!

A weird machine seemingly made of a no-name case, with 2 PS2 pads cheaply attached to it. Plays Tekken 5. Not by SEGA, but to prove its superiority over all other arcade companies!

OutRun 2 SP DX. Great, now I'll never be able to truly enjoy the Xbox version again once I'm back home.

You go on vacation to the Netherlands to take pictures of arcade machines?

No, but while I'm here I'm of course not missing this opportunity.

Is the Netherlands known for its quality arcades?

Also, "Netherlands" is a retarded name and sounds grammatically incorrect no matter how you phrase it. Why don't they just call the damn country Holland?

I'd second that, in real life I also just call it Holland all the time.

And well, I assume there are that many arcades here due to the whole area being very touristic. It's quite special for me, as in Germany I have not yet seen a single arcade anywhere.

Holland is, apparently, only a small part of the Netherlands.

Speaking of arcades, there used to be a very short-lived arcade at a mall nearby where like 4/5 of the titles were Japanese. I think it had two Samba de Amigo v.2000, the Japanese Biohazards Gun Survivor 1&2, a Hokuto no Ken punching game, some Konami Benami games, a river rafting game, House of the Dead, and I forgot the rest. I'm somewhat regretting the fact I never tried out any of the games (particularly Samba de Amigo v.2000 and maybe the punching game).

Why not?

I came across some odd arcade machines at my local Red Robin.

Mega Man Power Battle

http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm24 ... CN1440.jpg
Love and Berry Dress Up and Dance

http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm24 ... CN1441.jpg
Dinosaur King

The last two are Sega machines that apparently reward you with a trading card of sorts every time you play. I'm not sure what you do in the Dress Up and Dance game, but it looks like the second game involves rock-paper-scissors with dinosaurs.

I had no idea either of those games were released in America.
