My main present was a Preowned Xbox 360 Elite from Eve and Dad. So I would just buy myself the odd present and wrap it up and shove under the tree.

So I got myself:
Bioshock: Collectors Edition (with the Big Daddy statue)
Mass Effect Art book and Guide
Assassin's Creed Art Book and Guide (I'm such a whore for Limited Edition Crap)
QI Annual.

Plus I got Season 1 of Fraiser and a WWE Divas Calendar from Eve. Which is nice.

I didn't get much this year. My main present was a computer desk which I actually got a few weeks before Christmas. Other than that all I got was a new bag, some winter clothes, some sweets and a few other things.

Headphones seem popular this year. I got a Sennheiser HD280 which I directly asked for. Aside from that a Star Wars pop-up book and cash. I don't really know where the Star Wars came from since I haven't expressed interest in that franchise since the Special Editions.

Was it... was it the "Jabba's Palace" pop-up book? Because I got it this Christmas under similar circumstances.

Listy! I struck it big this year thanks to guilty relatives who don't usually see me coming to visit:

The Rutles: All You Need is Cash (fake documentary about the Beatles by the Monty Python guys)
Casio EX-Word, a badass pocket Japanese dictionary that has stylus input to look up Kanji. It is so damn hot.
The Art of Bone
Mouse Guard
An voucher for Akiko: Flights of Fancy special edition with a special signed print by the author (my favourite comic when I was a kid)
Miyamoto Musashi's 'The Book of Five Rings' and some Tai Chi book from my crazy aunt
$75 in one dollar bills crinkled up and put into a large box by my other crazy aunt
Giftcards!

How is Mouse Guard? It looks imaginative and interesting, but also like a virtual rip-off of Redwall.

It's been a very Terry Pratchett Christmas for me. I got a couple of his books and the film adaptation of Hogfather, which I'd not know existed and made for a very pleasant surprise!

Looks like not everyone had a good Christmas...

Yes, it was on Kotaku, and yes, it was very funny.

Mine was pretty good:

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Season 1
Red Rocket 7 by Mike Allred
a Peanuts book
The Winter King by Bernard Cromwell
Musashi vol.2
Sneakers, socks and underwear.

Just finished reading Red Rocket 7 and it rocks. Literally.

I hadn't thought about it, but yeah! Only mice are intelligent so far, but things could change. Also there's no abbey, which never really made any sense because there was never a mouse Jesus to start the mouse monastic orders that would necessitate a mouse cloister. Instead there's some sort of fortress town! The cast is pretty much made up of the sort of mice who were the only ones I cared about in the Redwall books, i.e. badasses. There is one who lives at the beach and kills crabs with a fishing hook. He has a peg leg!

Basically it is great and I love it.

And Red Rocket 7 is awesome.

I got, among other things, Streetlight Manifesto's "Somewhere In The Between" from my sister. All ska fans who don't already have it would do well to pick it up.

I also got some clothes from various relations and some books, including "Discover Your Inner Economist" by Tyler Cowen (highly recommended) from my parents, and an early (1970) inquiry into libertarian anarchy from my inamorata ("Radical Libertarianism" by Jerome Tuccille).

So Christmas was pretty good, but I'm not sure about this winter thing. I think I'd like it more if not for the more voluminous precipitation, lower temperatures, and less direct solar radiation...

I used my Barnes & Noble gift card to buy I Am America (And So Can You!) by Stephen Colbert.

Best. Book. EVER.

Someone made a Sonic version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas:

You can probably guess who plays the title character.

Edit: *Sigh* Sorry about that. I'll read older posts more carefully next time.

I'm on the "early christmas" party, too- got myself a copy of Twilight Princess and the second Phoenix Wright (had to read the whole script of the first game before playing it, but was totally worth it) two weeks ago.

I had my sister and mother over on Christmas Eve. We played Rock Band, they stuck to vocals, though my mom did venture into drums and guitar. It still was a lot of fun. Then we watched The Ice Harvest, and on Christmas Day went to my sis' and opened presents, and had a turkey dinner etc.
