Holy shit.

Post by Parn »

Don't know how credible this is, but supposedly this is the TGS 2007 lineup from Sega:

Alien Syndrome (Wii,PSP)
After Burner: Black Falcon (PSP)
Beijing 2008: the Official Videogame of the Olympic Games (PS2,Xbox360,PS3,Wii,PSP,NDS,PC)
ChuChu Rocket! (Xbox Live Arcade,PC)
Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars (PSP)
Fighters Megamix 2 (Xbox360,PS3)
Ghost Squad (Wii)
Happy Tree Friends False Alarm (Xbox Live Arcade,PC)
Jet Set Radio Next (Xbox360,PS3)
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (Wii,NDS)
Medieval II: Total War KingdomsVisit (PC)
Nights: Journey of Dreams (Wii)
Phantasy Star Universe: Ambition of the Illuminus (PS2,Xbox360,PC)

Samba De Amigo Fever (PSP)
Sega Classics Collection 2 (PS2,PSP)
Sega Rally Revo (Xbox360,PS3,PSP,PC)
Sega Superstar 2 (Wii)
Shenmue 3 (Xbox360)
Shenmue I & II Plus (Xbox360)
Skies of Arcadia 2 (Wii)
Sonic Rivals 2 (PSP)
Sonic Rush Adventure (NDS)
Sonic the RPG (Xbox360,PS3)
Space Channel 5 Part3 (Xbox360,PS3)
Space Channel 5 Showtime (Wii,NDS,PSP)

The Club (Xbox360,PS3,PC)
The Golden Compass (PS2,PC,NDS,Xbox360,PSP,PS3,Wii)
The House of the Dead 4 (Xbox360,PS3)
Universe at War: Earth Assault (Xbox360,PC)
Virtua Fighter 5 (Xbox360,PS3)
Virtua Fighter Kids 2 (Wii)
Worldwide Soccer Manager Live (Xbox360,PC)
Yakuza 3 (PS3)

Bolded the ones I care about most of all. Nintendo Wii purchase: confirmed. I already have a 360. It's almost as if Sega's been holding back all this time so they could prepare for their return to greatness. This better not be bullshit, or heads will roll.

It's not real. Until I'm proven right, I think you should pre-emptively kick his ass for not bolding Shenmue.

Shenmue, AKA Yu Suzuki's tech demo for Dreamcast that helped kick Sega out of the console industry forever because they lost so much money producing it?

Yeah, I've heard of it.

Two things wrong with this list: Skies of Arcadia and Yakuza should be Eternal Arcadia and Ryū ga Gotoku, right?

Sonic RPG is a DS game, not PS3/Xbox.

This is definately fake, but oh god I want it to be true so god damn badly.
Does SEGA even have enough time, money, and dev teams to make all this stuff simultaniously, without sucking or outsourcing?

Judging by the commentaries at the bottom, it looks like even the readers don't trust the spicy ones on that list. Since I haven't personally played Shenmue I can't say how great or sincerely forgettable it was, but it sure helped bring SEGA down the road; they did a way too risky bet there, that's for sure.
Whatever, the list lacks Burning Rangers and Virtual-On.

Fighters Megamix 2 would be both hilarious and devastatingly awful at the same time. Hilarious because Sega would be taking Smash Bros. head-on; devastating because not only would Smash inevitably crush it at retail, it all but dashes any hopes of Sonic being in Brawl...as opposed to possibly appearing in a sequel to an ultra obscure all-star fighter franchise that, currently, nobody in the mainstream remembers nor cares about. That could change with aggressive marketing, but.

I'd say this list is at least 60-70% on the mark, the rest made up of the fanboy's-wet-dream names. We already know about a bunch of these.

It likely says in Korean, "This is a fake list."

Basically I think this is a discussion board, and the guy posting that list specifically pointed out that it's a rumor. He also doesn't say where he got the list from.

A lot of the people commenting afterwards state their disbelief at the list's veracity.

So don't get your hopes up, it's probably a load of bunk. But man, if just one of those games is real, that would be awesome.

The fact that anybody was naive enough to believe this list was real in the first place makes me laugh. And cry. Oh, internets.

Yeah, that's how the thing works, some goon just copies the entire official list of upcoming titles, adds some interesting hoax powder and voilà!, everyone falls.
Oh, it's also lacking Fifth Phantom Saga (which is halfway of being a hoax itself).
