They didn't screw up the voices because its the same people who's always been doing them.

I'm sure they could screw them up if they really tried.

Oh, please. They'll pick three Hollywood B-listers pitched up a couple octaves and nobody will ever notice the difference.

Actually it IS the same guy:

http://imdb.com/name/nm0046559/

(Theodore was voiced by the girl who did the Chipettes)

What's weird is that the guy who produced the 80s Chipmunk cartoon(And the older animated Chipmunk movie) is also the producer of this.

I can't believe he allowed them to do the eating shit thing.

So the movie will have jokes based on the fact that they're chipmunks. Fan-friggin-tastic.

The guy's got a really distinctive intonation, I think. He's got a really weird way of speaking. I could tell it was the same voice from the 80s cartoon instantly.

You know, I got the best idea. "Earl meets The Chipmunks." To cross off the final thing on the list, he has to rock out with the chipmunks and that guy who owns them.

Coming next November.

If Jason Lee hears about it, there's no doubt he'll agree to it. Unless he's being blackmailed... in which case he'll agree regardless.

Am I the only one who thought the chipmunks were annoying as hell?

Also, how many time can you say your childhood has been raped before it's finally raped? I think it's raped, let it go.

Swat Cats kicks ass, btw.

Why was Swat Kats canceled? Because of power rangers?

I dunno. It just kept getting better. The artwork from second season was cool as hell.

The reason the Chipmunks still have their original voice actors is because those two actors actually own the franchise. Alvin and Simon are voiced by the son of the original creator, and Theodore and the Chipettes are voiced by his wife.

The two of them have produced every iteration of the characters since the 70s, which is a pretty unusual thing to happen in this industry! But it probably explains why even this weird CG film thing still sticks pretty close to the classic formula.
