Still, the NES-style Wiimote is looking like the most attractive choice for me at the moment; I’m all about some solid D-pad control, as I had a hard time mastering the analog stick in Melee.
Wow cool, someone who sucks ass at videogames.

Any one who cannot figure out how to play smash with a control stick shall be blown a way by the POWERFUL RUMBLE!

There are those people who just plain can't play a fighting game on anything other than a D-Pad (or an arcade stick). I tend to think that Smash isn't really a traditional fighting game, but there's always room for exceptions with these things.

I'm still angry that he was the last trailer's 'big reveal'.

I don't like the DS design of Fox's face, they're using. But I guess they're using the most up-to-date source material.

今日のはYoshi's Island です。

The updates are getting steadily worse. They started mediocre, began feeding us new information in the form of Pokemon and Delfino Isle, and now they're posting pictures of characters and stages we already know about without elaborating on them at all.

If you're going to hype a site re-launch, at least have some decent info planned for at least a little while.

I don't expect any big news for a while, if they're taking minor things and saying "this is our update! Guess who's in the game? Mario!"

I'd settle for a release date, though.

Anyone complaining about the updates is fucking retarded. It's updated with content 5 times a week, every weekday. You can't complain about constant updates, obviously it's going to be little things each day if they plan on keeping it going for a fair amount of time.

Yeah, but the thing that makes it irritating is that we don't know how long this is supposed to keep going. It's like a countdown that doesn't have a specific end point.

They'll run out of old info in a month. It's not that long a wait, and they are giving us the odd new bite of info.

New update: Ridley's theme. I'm convnced now that Sakurai take pleasure in watching message boards explode in flamefests. So without further ado......

"OMG! Ridley confirmed!"
"Don't be stupid, he's too big"
"He was small in NES Metroid!"
"Only because of the hardware, Nintendo wants him big"
"The music is undenyable proof he's in!"
"Yeah, maybe as an adventure mode boss."
"Dark Samus should be in. Ridley sucks!"
"Your face sucks!"
"That's what your mom said last night!"

There, got that out out of the way.

I don't think Ridley is going to be a selectable character, SSB Melee had the Abys stage with Kraid in the back grown, but he was not a selectable character

Yeah, but Ridley popped up in the intro to Melee. I had this friend who saw that scene in the commercial for Melee and thought he was playable. Is there really a downside to making him playable?

Not that I could see. His wings could maybe be used similiar to either Kirby's multi-jump or however they're using Pit's wings...maybe.

I picture him like a floaty Bowser, with multi-jumps.

Update has moar "Crates & Barrels".

Of course, we also get a mini-bit of new info as well: barrels and crates now take on different appearances depending on the stage (i.e. sci-fi stages have aluminum, glowy containers, "kiddie" stages have big present boxes, etc.). Some of them will also...er...run and/or slide away from you too.

The Melee version for what it's worth. Never noticed the baby metroid capsule before.

Fox's design only gets worse. The best design was the one from the SNES boxart. The N64 was fairly decent, giving the amount of polygons it had, but since Starfox Adventures, he looks like the mix of a kid and ass.

Actually, this one from Smash Bros is better than the Assault and Command ones.

I think I liked Star Fox Adventure's the best. Also, remember that the model in the first Star Fox was Fox's dad.

I wish they'd stuck with something closer to the model in Melee.

For some reason I'd always thought that the first game was about his dad, but a quick Wikipedia search proved me wrong...

Lots of people get that idea after playing 64.
