So why did Ike get an English voice but not Marth?

maybe because Marth was a Japanese game character, I think old characters like him were placed on last minute personally.

Because unlike Marth, Ike was actually in a game in North America, so it would make sense to give him an English voice. I'm surprised they waited until the third game to give Fox an English voice, though.

The only characters that really seem like they were last-minute additions are Toon Link and Wolf. Because they're fairly uninspired clones and have no role in story mode. Even though with the "gathering of villains ala Kingdom Hearts 1" storyline Wolf should have really been in there somewhere.

Yeah, he appears in the Lucario/Meta Knight storyline about halfway through. The only characters missing from storymode is Toon Link, Wolf, and Jigglypuff. But you can still replay the mode with those characters later - they just don't appear in the cutscenes or have any impact on the plot.

Interesting, did not know this! I'm glad they made it possible to replay the level with any character after you beat it, this adds to the replay value of SSE and Brawl all together.

I still can't get over the fact they cut out Jigglypuff's green headband. *sob*

Yeah but at least Pikachu traded that ugly party hat for some goggles and the St Patrick's hat for a hip head band. Wish Sonic would've had those kind of accessories as alt costumes, but meh Original Sonic is all I will be using on Brawl.

That's actually a pretty good point. Sonic really did get shafted in terms of alternate costumes. Considering he has so many different designs, its rather uninspired to just change his shade of blue and be done with it. Off the top of my head, I can think of:

- Shadow
- Metal Sonic
- "Sonic Riders" outfit
- "SOAP Shoes" outfit
- Bounce Bracelet / Flame Ring accessory
- Sprite Sonic

Shadow is understandable since he's an AT instead, but the others (aside from possibly Sprite Sonic) all seem like perfectly viable changes.

But there is a problem, Metal and Shadow are different and don't talk like Sonic, and the soap and rider shoes are similar to his real shoes, I think they gave different shades of blue and different colored shoes because of this, Sonic is just too blue to change. :PB: but...this will keep fan character noobs away from thinking Sonic is their character who is just a re-color.

Yeah, not like those respectable fan character makers.

I have just had a flash of memory to a time when I was 11 and had (essentially) made a Sonic fan character. His name was "Atomic" and he looked just like Sonic except he had sunglasses and wore little red bandannas tied around his elbos (stealing the entire outfit of Rash the Battletoad). He was based on the line "Be Sonic, be Atomic" from the US Sonic manual, which I was then interpreting that there should be a second character to play as (this was before Sonic 2 so you pretty much HAD to make your own shit up).

I also made a "Cyber Sonic" who was, basically just Sonic crossed with Air Zonk/PC Denjin, but I don't think that counts in the same way. Because he was a villain. Still didn't have Sonic 2 for an official robot then either.

I made some sort of Scorpion character that looked like a lobster and Sonic had sex. In a cowboy hat.

I changed my mind about them not putting enough effort into distinguishing Sonic. His "idle" poses are the pose he makes upon completing an act in S3&K, and his idle pose from the same game:

Snake doesn't like him though. :(((((((((

R.O.B. is kind of a mind-fuck in the same way Mr. Game and Watch was.

Watching those videos of the Japanese version, I wonder why the anouncer's voice is in English?
