An idea whose time has come

I've waited years for this. Dino Pebbles, Cinna-crunch Pebbles, and Marshmallow Pebbles were all delicious, but not really Pebbles. This is the first new flavor that deserves to stand alongside the venerable Fruity and Cocoa varieties. (I myself would favor Vanilla Pebbles, but there's a perception among kids that vanilla has no flavor which makes it impossible to market vanilla cereal which is a tragedy.)

Anyway, Berry Pebbles taste exactly like you'd expect: super sweet artificial fruit flavor heaven. Of all the fruit and chocolate cereals on the market (and believe me, I have tried them all from about 1983 to now) I think the Pebbles line has the strongest flavor, and Bamm-Bamm's mix is no exception. It's lightyears better than the new Berry Rice Krispies, just as Cocoa Pebbles soundly trumps Cocoa Krispies. As always, it get soggy entirely too fast - you're chewing mush by the fourth spoonfull - but more delicious gruel I could not imagine in my wildest dreams. Aesthetically, I think it would benefit from some blue pieces, but cereal companies always seem reticent about using blue food dye, so I imagine it must be the most expensive on the market.

The flavor is actually very similar to Blueberry Morning (also from Post), but with several times the sugar. Later on I'm going to mix a bowl of Fruity and Berry Pebbles together. I'm so daring.

...wow. That's the first time I've seen CEREAL being reviewed.

Though I always DID wonder why they didn't do this sooner...I mean, other cereals have done this, all the way back to the ye olde "Oops! ALL Berries" cereal.

You know, some people have grown up and eat Rice Krispies. Hmph.

Captain Crunch is by far the superior cereal. Instead of cavemen [previously cool but ruined by Geico's annoying image campaign] we have some old man who thinks he's in the navy.

You lead a sad, lonely existence and this is just further proof.

What... what's the difference between berry flavored pebbles and fruit flavored pebbles?

One has citrus fruit flavors in it.

Or perhaps it stems from the fact that eating blue cereal makes it look like you're eating mold.

If it doesn't have the words "Honey-Comb" on the box, i'm not interested.

Green, I had no idea you were a cereal aficionado too. I eat cereal about 10 meals per week, and if it were socially acceptable, I would eat it the other 11 too.

I usually rotate Froot-Loops (actually the Wal-Mart kind; they are far superior to the Kellogg's kind), Honey Nut Cheerios, and Lucky Charms. I always forget that I like Honey Comb, but then when I get some I find that it is delicious.

We don't get all these fruit based cereals in the UK unless they have actual dried fruit in. (Raisins, banana, berries, etc) The cereal itself is plain or sugared. Which is a bit of a shame.

I tend to rotate between Coco Pops, Frosties, Honey Nut Cheerios and Cinnamon Grahams.

Also vanilla cereal would be sickly.

I refuse to believe Americans can make decent breakfast cereals. Everything tastes like stale rice pudding dipped in food colouring.

And that's why I eat Rice Krispies.

Even Rice Krispies are too danged flash for my preference. As a man of more mature tastes, I like my cereal unsweeted. And brown.

Sometimes, if I am feeling flush, I will have some muesli.

It's got raisins. That's pretty wild.

Your choice of cereal's lack of bright colors depresses me. D:

Jesus Pop, what are you; 21, 22 going on 85? Everyone and their mums likes to hear it snap, crackle and pop, and if they don't they're freaks.

As a man who's been around the block a few times when it comes to breakfast cereals, I gotta say it always comes down to Ricicles.

Peanut Butter Pebbles would own.

I'd like to say that Cap'N Crunch is awesome, mainly because it takes a tough breakfast eater to eat something with a good chance of cutting the roof of your mouth.

Well, it does sort of look like you're eating dead leaves. That really doesn't help your case, though.

Long ago when Toastyfrog.com used to review off-brand cereal I was lucky enough to get my hands on a box of King Vitamin (don't ask how):

Do you have the Royal Racing Coach, Locit? Is it as amazing as I hope it is?
