So I'm new here. I'd hope that's good news for me - the last Sonic forum I spent any real time in rapidly became an unparalleled source of catharsis - and after a fair few weeks of lurking here I've finally knuckled down and made an account. I've read the rules, so there will be no "ITE GUYZZZZZZx10^3" or any other arse-ry.

I look forward to contributing!

Hi, everyone, I'm EggTroopa. I didn't really come here to enter a contest, but now that I know about it I guess I'll check it out. I came here simply looking for a good place to hang out in cyberspace. I used to be a member of a famous forum called the Mystical Forest Zone. At out zenith we were over a thousand strong, and we were all united by a strong devotion to a certain blue hedgehog. In the beginning I was a big Nintendo fanboy; I still am, you might say, but the MFZ brought me to the dark side and before I knew it, I was replaying stages on Sonic Adventure DX, looking for the right animals to give to my Chao, blaring songs from the games on my stereo on a burnt CD, and at one point, I had more Sonic games than Mario games. Soon, however, the high came to a crashing end for me with both Sonic and online forums. Between Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic X, I never wanted to see another hedgehog as long as I lived. And then the forum went to hell with constant flaming, trolling, and impotent and incompetent moderating. The wise administrators tried several times to restart the forum, but it was no use. They all went somewhere else, and the forest died.
So there I was, at my lowest point of despair and listlessness, wandering the seedy corridors of 4chan for the next few years. Somehow I heard of this place and figured it was worth checking out and now here I am. I've learned to forgive Sonic Team for ruining Sonic for me, and might try one of his newer games sometime, but I'm still a Mario fan first and foremost, if that okay with you guys.

I’m more worried by fact that you’re willing to try playing a new Sonic game again.

I might have overstated my case in my last post, (Things would be easier if I were able to edit my posts...) but I'm not completely prejudiced against Sonic. I just don't like the way Sega has treated him over the past decade.

Another thing I noticed, after I made myself at home here, I noticed that there's not much to do here. There's this general thread, one to share news, one with a bunch of polls to vote on, and a graveyard for locked threads, but nothing for artwork, sprites, roleplaying, or even comics! I knew this before I registered, but I thought you were just hiding these threads from all the non-members. Not to sound blunt, but I feel a little bit swindled. Are there at least any plans to add new threads anytime soon?

There is actually a thread for artwork, sprites, and comics, it's the third sticky on this forum.

The reason there aren't a million different subforums is because that's a terrible idea. And if you want to do roleplaying, I suggest you find a local tabletop group, and avoid it on the internet.
