I attest that the addition of these fine Stormtrooper avatars has lowered the forum's collective IQ.

Just a little.

We still don't have any of these restuarants in Michigan, though we get their comercials.

I'd like to try it some day. Anyone know if there's one in the Chicago area? I might be going there sometime this year.

I don't live anywhere near Chicago, so I can't help you.

But I can tell you, you're really not missing much. The ones around here have essentially abandoned the whole 50's novelty thing, so they basically play pop music and their 'car-hops' (I hate that word) don't wear rollerskates. Also, they tend to be annoyingly perky. The only real novelty left is that you can order in your car, and eat in your car. Go through a drive-through and stop in the parking lot, and you essentially get the same experience.

Their food is better than, say, McDonald's, but it's really nothing special. Their shakes and all that stuff, though, they're pretty good. Not "write to Sonic and threaten them in order to get a restaurant in your area" good, but still good.

Actually, I've noticed that Sonic's burger and fries taste surprisingly like Dairy Queen. I suspect foulplay, bullshit, and other assorted shenanigans.

You get to the annoyingly perky type people when you live in Utah. I think Mormons are raised that way. Even my roommate who has renounced his religion and has similiar viewpoints to me and is kind of a jackass to people he knows well enough is annoyingly perky and nice to strangers.

I've never been to an In-N-Out before, but Sonic's waitresses wear a permanent grin and would probably continue to smile after you've run them over.

Yeah, i've been wanting to try Sonic for years now. Why show us ads for Sonic if we don't even have Sonic resturants?

Oh well. I don't think they can be as good as Rally's.

Ours is the "pop n' hop" style as well, but hey, the food is great!

Or Checkers as they're called now.

We have a Checkers in our town, but I'm pretty sure it isn't part of a chain. What are yours like?

Not sure actually. I haven't been to a Rally's/Checker's in a few years.

Actually, while operating under the same corporate banner, there are both Checkers and Rally's restaraunts. They really only differ in terms of some different items on their menus.

On a slightly related tangent, is anyone familiar with Stop & Shop/Giant supermarkets?

Giant supermarkets are all I've ever used, primarily Shoprite and Stop & Shop. I think the only nameless grocery stores I've ever been to are the ones a few blocks in from the ocean front in vacation spots, where the property is all owned and it's probably impossible to acquire enough to build a giant store.

Eeeenteresting, then. I work at one, and we might all be going on strike starting Monday. If so, please, everyone, don't patronize them. If possible, of course.

Speaking of the strike, I think I'll be making $15 an hour soon!

Sonic would be better if they served boobies.

ANY restaurant (save for HOOTERS) would be better if they served b00bies.
