A better question would be "Arrr, can ye land-lubbers tell me 'ow much o' Monkey Island be ripped off by Pirates o' tha Carribean: Dead Man's Chest?", anyway. The first movie might've had some similarities, but the second one was very much more so:
Davy Jones = LeChuck, with some Cthulhu thrown in for good measure.
Voodoo Lady.
Cannibals.
Corrupt officials. (Remember Fester Shinetop? I mean, sure, he was LeChuck in disguise, but still.)

How dare Disney rip-off trademark ideas like cannibals, voodoo, and corruption in the government! Someone call the President!
Oh HELL yes. I remember that game. Admittedly I never played it (how could I, I lack a modded or Japanese Xbox, and it only came out in Japan), but any game starring the President of the USA inside a freaking mech is wortha look in my book.
The bartender says to the pirate, "Do you know that you have a ship wheel down your pants?"
He says, "Arr, it's driving me crazy."
I think you'll find the actual punchline is 'driving me nuts'. Or, as I once famously mis-told it, "steering me balls", which didn't have quite the same effect.
For some reason there's a cartoon depicting that joke taped up on the wall of one of the stalls of our bathrooms here in the dorm. Annoyingly, it uses something akin to Popcorn's mistelling as the punchline ("Arr, it's touching my balls"). It fails pretty hard.
1) Wait, I've told the 'steering me balls' story before?
2) That comic is eerily similar-- astoundingly eerily similar in fact-- but my faux pas originated back when I was in college sometime, which would have been 2004 at the latest. I don't know when that comic came about.
