The History degree is pretty much un-employable. Even if I wanted to teach History, I'd have to go back to school and get my PhD.
It's the professional writing and publishing that I'm trying to use to find jobs... I took history more for personal interest, and because I had to major in SOMETHING (there was no writing/publishing major).
Professional Writing and Publishing is actually a pretty employable area, since essentially every company ever needs to employ someone with these kinds of skills. But most places seem to prefer experience to education. (Surprise!) Plus, I live in pretty small town on an island, which means there isn't a lot of work to be had to begin with.
