On an Island, with a challenge.

I recently purchased David Gilmour's latest solo effort, On an Island, on the strength of the first single. In true QOTSA fashion, the first three songs are pure brilliance, and the rest is a grab bag. Worth picking up if you're looking to fill that hole in your record collection between A Momentary Lapse of Reason and Daylight Again by CSN.
My challenge to all of you is to review the album in 500 or more words without mentioning Pink Floyd. It simply cannot be done without sounding silly and redundant.
