The plot has been done to death before and there are only three action scenes in the entire movie. However, that said, the ferocity of the action scenes makes Jason Bourne or John Matrix look limp-wristed.

I'm more interested in how good the comic is. I have no history with "A History," but am always on the lookout for good graphic novels.

Don't worry, I can assure you the plot is indeed stupid. Well, I guess the plot isn't terrible, but the entire execution sucks. To be honest, I didn't even think the action scenes were that great, specifically the ending.

I would characterize a movie with three action scenes total, each less then a few minutes as an action movie. It was a drama if anything. And I though the action was brutal and very satisfying. Especially when he beats that guy to death by smashing the bones in his nose into his brains.

It was a good movie, but vastly overrated.
That said, the action scenes were unnecessarily gory for the story that they were trying to tell.

Well, I figured that was just because they wanted to show you that the dude who's name I can't remember was actually Joey. The small town cafe owner couldn't possibly be as violent and gruesome as Joey. However, the end of the movie kinda sucked, along with most of the middle.

I agree the movie was overrated. The violence was realistic, as it should be (well what do you expect to see after someone is shot in the face?), but the story couldn't really carry it through.
Also, I must have missed something at the academy awards, because who decided to nominate William Hurt for best supporting actor? That was honestly one of the most laughable performances I've ever seen. Hurt might have played some good roles in the past, but this time he clearly has no clothes on.

Wouldn't a lack of clothes have made the movie better?

Especially when they are your spouse.

I think that's called being kinky. If I ever get married one day, I would really enjoy taking a day off from work to rape my wife. : )

That's typical. Can't handle anything remotely threatening.
Maybe I should have used the words, "suprise sex".
