Jus' what it says. What are the best band names you have ever come upon? Popular, esoteric, real, seen in a movie, Ska, screamo, new, old, doesn't matter. There are enough musicphiles here to at least make this at least a little interesting.

we shall make pretentious music indeed

Cock Lorge. He is so much better than everything. For some reason I really like the name.
I actually envy PWB because I didn't come up with "Bobbing For Adjectives". I would buy the pretentious music and become pretentious myself. Then I'd become even more pretentious by claiming the second or third album "sold out", regardless of what it is.

If I had a band, I would call it "Let's Keep It Dainty". That's a horrible name for a band, but it would either be that or "Quality Melons". I got the name from my friend, who when asked who he wanted to have over at his house, he replied with "Let's keep it dainty. Bring some girls."

Tiger! Lifts the Mountain and Power Buddha are two favorites that I've been in, and possibly my favorite band name of all time would be a local band called Stephen's Unstoppable Funk Generator.

I simply cannot stand that word. It's cheap. There's this other 28-letter word, I can't remember how to spell it for the life of me, but it means "the action of estimating as worthless."
