LCD games ditched in favour of Sonic X themed disc launchers.
It wasn't all that long ago McDonalds rolled out their last Sonic Happy Meal promotion, but they are at it once again in the UK and with a completely different line of toys for the young/young at heart. The Sonic X themed toys now available are disc launchers, available in four different characters - Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Shadow.
It currently has not been revealed as to whether more different character themed toys will be launched during the campaign, however given that this promotion is running alongside of Hello Kitty themed toys, it may be a little much to wonder why there are no Amy or Cream toys.
The following images have been nabbed from McDonalds Happy Meal flash site. (Available here)
Also available in the new online content section of the promotion are a new desktop wallpaperand ecard.
Previously when SEGA/Sonic LCD Games have featured in the prestigious McDonalds Happy Meal, they have enjoyed huge success around the world. Now the question will be answered once and for all, was it the Sonic characters branding or the actual LCD Games which sold burgers?
Almost as much fun as ripping the paper off one end of the straw and blowing the other end across the floor into some random stranger's eye. Almost, because you'll need to retrieve these discs.
Damnation! Everything interesting happens in the UK when I'm not there! To think, I could be being hit by plastic discs right now! Instead, the last time I visited, all I did was eat 10+ bags of Humbugs in a few days.
If I ate at McDonald's and ordered kids meals, I might show a little more enthusiasm. Still, it's nice to know Sonic is holding onto pop culture by some sort of thread.

Yeah, thats what Im sayin :) Its rather nice aint it?
But I want Figures for toys at MC Donalds, Mc Donalds has made rather nice figures in the past, I wish they made key chains or something more usefull rather than disks or game & watch games that you get tired of them on the first try, although I got them all just for the heck of it..I live near one, thats why I guess.

Actually, that reminds me of the Burgerking kids meal toys that coincided with the release of Sonic 2, there was a yo-yo with a picture of Sonic spinning on the side I believe.
That's pretty depressing, but not frightening. What would be frightening would be if they merchandised these launchers. You know...a TV show called Sonic Launchers or something. Wow, that's frighteningly feasable.
