Fuck Beethoven, Mozart, or that Mario Piano Guy, we got ourselves
Gori Fater , the Sonic pianist. About time too. While everyone is out there humming the Overworld song to Super Mario Brothers, this guy gives us
real video game music, all performed nicely. It's too bad I'll never find anyone humming the Green Hill Zone BGM these days.

That guy is damned good. In particular, I like the way he speeds up the Marble Zone music. That song always did seem too slow and plodding to me.
But the best part is the first time he simulates the score tally.

Wow. His(?) GHZ and Marble Zone are particularly nice, I think. I kinda wish they looped.

That is sweet. Forget the stupid Mario guys, now I finally have some Green Hill Zone sheet music.
That guy wins the internet.

That's pretty damn impressive (though, admittedly, probably only to us).
Something not quite right about his Spring Yard Zone, but that's not exactly piano stuff anyway. Top marks.

Would that be learning to play video games again?

Hm, s'allrite.
Is this the same guy who played to a small crowd at E3 earlier this year? I remember a video where the audience would name a game series or franchise and the guy would cut loose almost immediately, no prep time or anything. He played a few Sonic songs if I recall.

When I get my recording equipment this christmas I will also record some shit.
Guitar renditions of Sonic 3 boss theme and Sky Sanctuary anyone?
I might even throw in the Sonic 2 Supersonic theme.

So is Mystic cave but I always feel sorry for the bassist on that one.

It's always tough when the bass player gets an unexpected work out. Sort of like the Cave of Trials theme from Star Ocean 2. There's a bass solo in that, but the entire thing is insane.

Mind you, Planet X seem to have no problem with complicated solos on all fronts.
But Cave of Trials is a bitch of a bassline.

I think they wussified the bassline for the sequel. I don't care for the Steve Vai-esque guitar melody threatening to smother the entire piece, either.
