You mean the DK or Mario manga? 'Cause the DK series is a little more structured, but what you described sounds just like the Mario one. It was pretty screwed up, but it also featured levels from Wario Land, which I was playing at the time.
As for Kirby ... all I remember of that is the little dude growing a gigantic pair of breasts to try and feed a baby King Dedede.

Pretty nice list, too bad I don't know half of those games... and while on the subject, does anyone knows where I can find scans of that Paper Mario 2 manga?
I also noticed that the site forgot the Rockman/Mega Man OVAs. There were three of them, where Rockman goes to the "real world" (because he's in the videogame world) and learns about Japanese customs and tradition. There was also a little japanese kid as a main character (I think his name was Yuuta) who's presence was as annoying as Chris' from Sonic X.
It's interesting to note that one of the three OVAs actually used the American name "Mega Man" instead of Rockman, and I believe Blues was called Protoman; Rush could also talk in that episode.
Predictably, they were pretty bad. I believe these three OVAs made it stateside a while ago.
Yeah, they seemed like they were tailored to teach Westerners about Japanese culture. But really, what Western kid gives a crap about Mega Man these days?
Man, I thought that this topic was going to be about the new Marilyn Manson album...
And that one poster with the lesbian in his/her avatar was right, nobody cares about MegaMan anymore. That's why we see this Battle Network shit, to get kids interested in games made in a decade they weren't even born in...
