Sega.com Opens "Sega Shop"

Post by Double-S- »

Basically it's a download purchase-style store. Current stock is retro arcade stuff (House of the Dead 1 & 2, Virtua Fighter, Virtua "Squad" 1 & 2) and some sports manager games.

Doesn't say if the games support online or LAN play. Which would be the only possible reason to pay $10-15 for ancient software.

I wouldn't even be willing to put down $10 on any of those games. What's the point of purchasing those old Sega PC ports when you can just download them from any self-respecting abandonware site. In fact, I believe The Underdogs have all of those games that were mentioned (save the manager titles).

And here I thought the Sega Shop was a revival of the old Sega of America Online store where they sell plushies and other merchandise like that. =(

It sucks that Sega Direct doesn't do international orders. =P

If they put Virtual On up there, I'd hit it.

Maybe a game disc, not a downloaded game. Unless of course you burned it to a disc or something? Eww...
