The original Mega CD version is the only way to really enjoy the game. If you've played the ports I could understand why you don't like it much, as they're quite terrible.

Anyway, A Mega CD costs about 20 quid these days anyway, so it's not that hard to play the original Sonic CD.

Try saying that to my piece of crap of a Sega Genesis. Yes, I want both picture AND sound, if you don't mind.

*Pssh* I have the VBR rip of the Sonic Rush OST. Much better than the 192 kbps CBR.

So I got Sonic Rush and beat it completely a few days ago.

It's a decent game. Starts out solid, but the bosses suck and the final final stage/boss sucks major ass. I felt like the game went out on a low note. Sorry, but you'll probably feel disappointed after you beat it. The Special Stages are surprisingly entertaining, though. Hideki Naganuma's sountrack is good, but I really only found a couple of the songs to be great. Definitely not his strongest work.

Overall, it was a mediocre game. I don't see myself going back to replay any of the stages much. Meh, back to Mario Kart for me.

Every day, if possible!

Kind of hard now with school and my computer being incapacitated, so I've been putting my DS to good use.

Oh yeah, and Rush's ending was horrible. Like seriously awful. Basically you can summarize the whole final confrontation with THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP OWNS ALL!, I kid you not.

I would be in shock and awe if it wasn't for the fact that I saw that ending two years ago.

Congradulations, Wooduck51! You've created a new bit of GHZ jargon!

The ending wasn't that bad. I quite enjoyed it. There's some decent cutscenes that are visually impressive (for the DS) and the last boss has some pretty good music. The dialogue is also no worse than "THE REAL SUPER POWER OF TEAMWORK!"

I will admit the actual boss fight is a bit on the infuriating side though.

Most boss fights are, except for the classics, which is one way they got their title.

Damn, I haven't played Rush. Actually, I don't think I would be able to stand it; the graphics are so bad.

Fucking G-Sonic...

So are the judging the visuals off screenshots of the forest zone and early opinions from people then?

Granted, I still prefer the graphical style of the older games, but Rush is definitely not a bad looking game. Easily more aesthetically pleasing than the entire Advance series, with some pretty impressive 3d effects during stages too. Then there's the boss fights, which are pretty nice if seeing underpowered systems do semi decent 3d is your thing.

Whoa, whoa, careful now.
Granted, I pre-judged the game. You'd think I would have learned by now not too.

BUT WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THE ADVANCE SERIES?!?!?

I love that visual style. It was flexible, animated, and generally cooler than the classic or psuedo-3D styles. Maybe it's an acquired taste, but I can't see how Rush has better graphics than even Advance 3, the worst of the set.

Atmosphere. It's what matters most.
