If a lot of people didn’t think that people who thinks different must die, war would have been a lot less common.

Seriously, every year I see more and more people complain about Archie Sonic comic. But there is people who stills buy the comic and so it keeps it alive. Its like Pokemon or Barney, has lots of haters but keeps staying alive…

There is nothing we can do, we can only hope a new thing becomes so popular that buries Sonic Archie comic, Pokemon and Barney…

Man, I think that post made sense, but I'm not sure.

Or we could just collectively not care because it really doesn't affect us in any way. Besides it's hard to like, and thus care about, a franchise that not only has bad comics, but bad games as well. Maybe if Sonic Team gets there stuff together with this next-gen Sonic then I will care enough to remember that I don't like the comics. But even then I wouldn't discuss it or read asinine "lol Archie is dumb" comics made by hack fan artists.

Honestly I don't know why I even bothered typing this out. I must have temporarily forgot who I was responding to.

So if you wouldn't read or discuss asinine fan comics, then why are you still posting in this thread?

My posts were centered around the reactions that certain people take when they don't enjoy a piece of entertainment media. I was discussing the concept of anti-fill-in-the-blank, not talking about the comic itself. In fact I was sort of doing what I did in this topic.

Curious...it actually never got closed.
And I have to be frank with you, chris... posts like these make me unshamed to like a lot of things, like the recent Sonic games (altough I now reckon Sonic Heroes could've been a lot better), and that PPG doujinshi. There, I said it.

So... people can't be anti-something. But you can be all the anti-anti-something you want, to the point that you have to derail any thread in which anti-something is the topic. If you don't care, fine. Don't post. You don't have to try and keep other people from discussing something they hate.

There's nothing to be ashamed of. Your tastes may be less 'refined' than ours, which may or may not indicate that you're less mature, but you enjoy it and there's nothing wrong with that. However, for the perpetuating of conversation on this board, your opinions must be crushed with extreme prejudice.

It's good to know. And I sure as hell am safe about my maturity.

I see the comic hasn't done much since I gave up on it around issue #60 or so. I could tolerate the stories, but around that point the artwork just got miserable. Having recently seen the Sonic X comic, I wish the old one had art like that. You know, with the characters actually model and all.

Maybe I'm way off base but I'll lay down my position very simply.

*I have no objections if somebody dislikes something.
*I have no objections if somebody discusses why they dislike something.
*I have no objections if somebody uses satire to make fun of that which they dislike.

*I diagree with the notion: "If I don't like x, then x shouldn't exist."
*I disagree with the notion: "If I don't like x, and person y likes x, then person y is z"
*I disagree with the notion: "Because I am myself my opinion is somehow more relevant/refined/better than person y."

If you look at what I specifically responded to, you'll note that I never tried to stop any discussion about Archie comics. All I did was ask some rhetorical questions that were posed to me.

Ah! I did say that I wouldn't discuss Archie comics. I in no way meant that other people shouldn't discuss them if they want. I just said that even if I cared about Sonic (as much as I used to), I probably wouldn't discuss them. My fault.

I agree with Chris, he was pretty much indifferent to the whole thing.
As he said, he speaks for himself.

There needs to be a great white shark in the picture. Then you're good to go.

The guy is using an eletric device in the middle of a lake. Isn't that extreme enough?
