It looks uninspiring perhaps but is a fly-away beast with the winamp visualisation overlay.

It's 32 bit colour. I can't handle anything smaller on my 'compact' 15-inch monitor.
Does anyone know if there's a way of taking a screenshot of a winamp visulisation. It's a beast and you'd cream yourself.
Well you won't but I might. Any takers?

The printscreen key in the top-right corner of your keyboard should do the trick.

Sadly it doesn't. I took the picture posted while the visualisation was on but it came out sans colours.

You won't get anything that uses overlay in a screenshot.
One of my desktops
It's 1280x1024, so I linked it instead of making it inline. Notice what I'm running on =P

Ah, you've got the x86 version. How does it perform?

Seems pretty good, actually, for basic use. Video is pretty much unaccelerated since I don't have the specific Intel on-board chipset that the devkits have. Eye candy such as the dock and the "genie" effect for minimizing/restoring seem to run fairly good, although not with single-frame smoothness. Audio currently doesn't work at all, I just loaded iTunes to show that full PPC apps do indeed run fairly well (whereas most of the apps included with OSX x86 are universal binaries, iTunes curiously is PPC only and runs through Rosetta). I haven't tried any serious apps - the first big PPC app I want to try is Photoshop CS2. It's not quite as good as a "real" Mac currently, but nonetheless it is quite nice just to have it running natively.

Okay, I was thinking about trying it out. I don't think I'll bother.

Bah! Back in my day, we used to have a whole 640KB of RAM. And we LIKED it that way, gosh darnit!
No, I'm dead serious. My first computer was a 286 running at a blazing 10MHz and a whopping 640KiB RAM.
