The Autumn Television Lineup is awesome.

Post by Rlan »

"Fall" my arse. It's Autumn you crazy, foot/inch-using NERDS. Just because the word never looks like it's spelt correctly doesn't mean you can change it!

We've got:

Justice League Unlimited
Teen Titans
House MD
LOST!!
CSI
CSI Miami
CSI: NY
Boston Legal
Alias
Joey
Numb3rs
Las Vegas
Grey's Anatomy
Smallville
Cops Season 18
The Amazing Race 8
The Office US
Prision Break
My Name is Earl
Invasion
The OC
Arrested Development

And a ton of other shows start their seasons right NOW!

I suggest watching: House MD, Lost, Boston Legal, Numb3rs and Amazing Race, should all be good. House has started again really well and Lost OMG!!1

My poor broadband connection is getting raped :E

Out of that list House is the only one that mildly interests me, and even then not enough to bother finding the time and station it's on. Now that my cable does work, however, I will be anxiously awaiting December/January.

HES LEGALLY DEAD FOR THE WIN

I've been hearing good things about House from a friend of mine, but what's preventing me from watching it is because I'm squimish about anything hospital. I can't even be in an actual hospital without the need to feel shaky, nervous, or some rage of fear over it.

Out of the list you made, I think Teen Titans is the one I'm looking forward to with the OC as the least, as in not bothering to watch it at all as I have been since that damn show debated.

When I moved into my new apartment, I stopped getting cable. I decided it wasn't worth it. Now I've got an extra $40 a month to spend on DVDs!

Of course, that means that I'll have to go to my folks' place in January if I want to find out what happens to America's favourite legally dead terrorist-ass-kicker.

House is pretty good for a hospital show as far as the gross-out factor goes. They do it occasionally, y'know, something awful happens, but it's pretty rare and over quickly. Injections, surgeries, and of course gross CSI-style zoom-ins on failing organs do happen but I haven't been bothered by it, not like I am in other shows, and I'm pretty squeamish so I think I'm a pretty good judge of what is "too hospital."

I do get a bit tired of the "let's find the cause!" sessions that are a staple of every episode, where House gets his underlings together and they list the symptoms and try to find a common root while he makes fun of them. It's entertaining, but after seeing it so many times it loses some of its appeal and it doesn't ever seem to surprise you (compare with something like the pot circle scenes in That 70s Show, which have enough variation to not be annoying despite occuring in every episode).

But I really like House. It's both horribly cynical AND oddly touching, and somehow the combination works very well. I also enjoyed Medium last season from time to time and I like the premise behind My Name is Earl but I don't know if I'll ever find myself in front of the TV when it's on.

Let's see... off of that list, I'll be watching House, Lost, My Name is Earl, and maybe... JUST MAYBE... Numb3rs.

I don't think there is anyone on the planet who understands math less than the writers of Numb3rs do. It's great!

"Using this mathmatical algorithm, I've determined exactly where the bomber will strike next!"

"...how can an algorithm do that?"

"MATH IS IN EVERYTHING!"

You have no soul if you don't like Boston Legal. David Spader and William Shatner are hilarious.

The other stuff, I just wrote in to fill the list. Most I don't watch [OC, Cops was there as a joke], while I love the Amazing Race, but it's a love/hate show.

Rlan, you'd better have a damn good reason as to why Ghost in the Shell: SAC and the plethora of Studio Ghibli movies appearing on SBS aren't on your list.

Because I'm buying the GITS:SAC DVDs, I've got the first three, getting funds for the other 2 already released, and I already picked up Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service, Mononoke and Laputa. I actually picked up Nausicaa just yesterday. JB Hi-Fi had all Ghibli movies for $20 instead of their usual $30-ish.

Good enough for you? :P

I really hope "Joey" was on there as a joke as well.

But any season with new Arrested Development is a good season, so maybe you were right.
