Also, don't forget that there's also a "revision 3" of sorts, being the code found in KiS2. I don't know what, if any changes there are, but Knuckles can not turn super after the endpost.
Heh, my copy of Sonic 2 even has the Super Sonic bug "implemented" for Knuckles.

Dump it? Heck no. :P I've been bulding that copier since '99, when the make-your-own-cheap-little-sega-megadrive-rom-dumper plans were posted on SSRG. Made three of them, too. Short circuited. Broke six experimental cartridges. Never tried to dump any of my preciousss ones.

I have sinned enough! I will burn Sega Mega Drive cartridges into a broken mess of smelly plastic dreck no more!

Where have you been in the last two years? Now you can dump them easily with just a Mega-CD and a simple cable...

Oh wow, you're the man! I used to check your site like 3 years ago in my lunch break at school. Whatever happened to it? The day it went offline was the day the Intertron became just that little bit darker for me. :(

Yay! Fandom! The site? It was...er, it's gone now. That just about sums it up. :P

Wait a second...how the hell? KiS2 runs the game logic entirely from the 256K UPMEM located at $300000. That means that this is caused by a difference in your S&K cart o.o

The cart I have is revision 1, and it does not exhibit the SS bug with Knuckles.

As some of you may know, I now have a Super Magic Drive, and can dump up to 2MB carts (it has 16Mbits of RAM, I have no idea if you can still dump larger carts directly to the PC - I do know that it doesn't like having carts locked on to S&K). So if anyone's willing to send me their carts temporarily, I can dump them and provide them with the ROM image.

On a completely unrelated note: how could we miss the first birthday of the Douche Bag nominations? (July 20th)

Okay, Sonic 2 version 00 has been found and it features no pigs at all.

Please revise your sites for inconsistancies, thanks for your time.

If you're looking for pigs (which we now don't believe mean rev 00), make sure you actually see pigs and not bears (some people have already stated that they saw pigs, and then it turned out they were looking at bears).

Actually, my brother did. Long story.

I'll check Casino Night for boars. Or bears. Or...wait...what am I looking for, again?

Boars or bears?

Most versions of Sonic 2 have bears (Becky).

The super secret mythical version of Sonic 2 that may or may not exist apparently features pigs (Picky).

It's got bears.

Looks like the pig thing is indeed mythical...

How many console games get re-released with improved code? It happens sometimes these days, Metal Gear Solid, Ninja Gaiden, and (in Japan) Sonic Adventure and FFX ('international" versions) have all been re-released with new content or bug fixes, but in those cases it was always as a new game, or a new edition, something they could use to lure in people who had already bought the game. Releasing a "revised" version of a game just for such minor bugs and details, especially within the same region (ie, not Japan/US/UK) is totally unheard of as far as I know. It's amazing that they would have done it. Does it really "matter?" I don't know, but it's certainly interesting.

Also, in case you never noticed, this is the message board for a large, detailed, and trivia-centric Sonic website. IT MATTERS.
