So, yeah, E3 and stuff.

So, yeah, E3 and stuff.

Post by Protodude »

I figured someone would make this topic eventually, so why not me, huh?

So far there isn't much news, but E3 hasn't really started yet, so it's not surprising. But here's what's happened so far:

-New trailers and info on practically every Square-Enix game announced.

-New 360 crap, but no one cares.

-A new, 3d Final Fight game. The first Final Fight game since the GBA port.

-That one japanese courtroom game is coming to america as Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

-For all you Megaman fans out there, there's going to be a Megaman X Collection, Zero 4, Battle Network 5 Team Protoman/Colonel and a DS version of Battle Network 5 called Double Team, which will sport both GBA games in one.

And then, there's the PS3. You can find images of the system here. Some of the games announced for it so far are Metal Gear Solid 4, Devil May Cry 4, Tekken 6, Gran Turismo 5, the next Killzone and the next Grand Theft Auto. Supposedly some screenshots/videos of these games were shown, but none appear to be on the internet yet. So far the console reminds me of the 360 in looks. Plus it also has a removable hard drive just like the 360. And yes, it can play PS1 games.

Discuss.

So yeah, I forgot to mention a few things:

-The new Zelda game is called The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

-There's going to be a new Seiken Densetsu game titled World of Mana. It's unknown so far what console it's going to be for.

-Bill Gates stated that Halo 3 will launch for 360 when the PS3 launchs in america.

-I have a huge penis.

I guess shiny silver is the new in look. Matte black is out like woodgrain.

That's definitely a cut above the 360, at least in terms of exterior aesthetics, but what are the specs? How does it compare to the 360?

It concerns me when the first list of launch games for a console is made up of nothing but sequels in franchises that just had releases. Any original games announced?

I might get the white type. I'm guessing that the 360 will have higher specs but that's just a speculation. Personally I hope the two are more-or-less evenly matched.

Y'know, Playstation 3's game list might work to make it sucessful. Yeah, they're all franchise sequels, but that's the deal.

Here's the specs for the 360, here's the specs for the PS3 in no particular order. I don't feel like comparing, someone else do it.

Also, that FFVII prequel cell-phone game is coming to america.

PS3 wins by the looks of it. 100 billion shader operations (PS3)per second vs 48 billion (360) per second.
I know that's just one facet but PS3 looks like it will be phenomenal.
Looking at the hardware size the PS3 also uses the most transistors.

A lot of this stuff is old news (World of Mana, the Mega Man stuff, etc.). What would make me happiest would be the announcement of a new side-scrolling Metroid game.

The PS3 controller looks like a pain in the ass to hold. Might be cool to throw like a boomerang though.

The PS3 definetly blows the 360 out of the water in terms of aesthetics and (warning: assumption) technical power. The only way the 360 could compete is if MS installed a vagina on the side of it.

And the new Zelda is called "Twilight Princess"? It sounds cool to me, but I'm sure alot of people will question whether the most violent, realistic and mature Zelda game should have the words "twilight" and "princess" in the title.

EDIT-- I have no idea why I spelled Twilight like that.

Is "twighlight" a twilight of the thighs? If so, then I'm buying Twighlight Princess the day it comes out.

I love that Twilight Princess would seem like a totally frilly girly name if this game had any less of a serious tone, but since it is so serious, it's perfectly acceptable.

Great googly-moogly, that is one ugly-ass controller. I don't understand how the concept has gotten this far without serious opposition unless it's actually very comfortable to hold. That, or certain people in just the right departments of Sony are idiots.

Yeah, it looks like a third-party PS2 controller. It's been specifically stated as being subject to change, though, and considering the feedback so far, it probably will.

Square also put out a FFVII-Tech demo, which is basically the FFVII intro with AC style graphics

I loved it, but then again... I would

I also thought the new AC trailer was pretty darn impressive

But then again... I would

As for the PS3? Killzone and GT5 look pretty damn awesome. And yes there have been original titles announced, they were just announced later (since everyone knows they won't get as much attention)

Theres an article on Gamespot somewhere about it

Looks like Sony just bitch-slapped Microsoft pretty hard
