Not only does Shadow have a gun, now he also has a bike.

I'm also one of the few defenders of SA2. We've had this conversation numerous times on the GHZ, but while I prefer-- to be very vague about it-- SA1's art direction, story and general atmosphere, I think SA2 is the more playable game. It's been far too long since we've had a really good Sonic game though, and I genuinely miss him.Popcorn wrote: I always thought Sonic Adventure 2 was the best 3D Sonic game, despite that there's no adventure fields nor can you select a character (Unless you use the Level Select feature). I've always wanted a 3D Sonic game that consists of nothing but speed stages like the ones in Sonic Adventure 2. Just reduce the amount of grinding to 75 percent and we have ourselves a true 3D Sonic game.

It's a reference to a source that is referencing the song and it didn't make sense in the context of the referenced source. I think it's okay.
And I think SA1's Sonic stages were a lot better then in the sequal. In SA2 the stages were much to linear and there wasn't nearly enough platforming. The last few stages (Final Rush/Chase and Crazy Gadget in particular) are pretty good but everything between City Escape and those are pretty boring. Running down a race track suspended above a pit at a 45-degree angle isn't what I would call fantastic level design, and thankfully very few levels in SA had that.

Actually, one of the great things about SA1 was there was a balance with Sonic stages; Sonic's the only one who can go through both parts of any stage (I consider these parts the equivalent of "acts" of the older games), and one part usually allowed exploration and the other part revolved around high speeds (akin to Sonic Adventure 2). You're likely to smell the roses in Windy Valley parts 1 and 2, but you'll go full speed in part 3. Similarly, Speed Highway part 1 doesn't offer much in terms of exploration, but part 2 (Knuckles' part of Speed Highway) does. Casinopolis is also similar where the underground dump balances out the casino upstairs, or the platforming part of Ice Cap balances out the snowboarding section. Actually, I just realized Ice Cap and Twinkle Park are sort of similar in that aspect...chriscaffee wrote: Running down a race track suspended above a pit at a 45-degree angle isn't what I would call fantastic level design, and thankfully very few levels in SA had that.
Anyway, if the high speed areas in Sonic Adventure 1 were as good as Sonic's/Shadow's levels in Sonic Adventure 2, I think there'd be something awesome.

Actually, I do vaguely remember Iizuka's name being listed in the credits of "Sonic the Hegdehog 3 and Knuckles", but maybe I'm miss-remembering that too. On a side note, former lackees-turned-franchise manglers have occurred in the past; I'm sure any and all "Doctor Who" fans here would recall the dark days of John Nathan-Turner. Just thinking about "Dimensions in Time" gives me hives.Frieza2000 wrote:He [Iizuka] must've been WAY behind him for those first 8 years. Unless they mean as a writer for the Archie comics. That I'd believe.
Wait a couple months, another "Dead or Alive" is coming out soon.Baba wrote:I'd just like to have a game which I could proudly masturbate to.
Until then, might I recommend the Kasumi mousepad, which comes with a special built in arm rest/three dimensional boobs. For the ladies, might I suggest "Rez"? Well, okay, Del could all of those, but that's besides the point.

Just give me a bottle of Dr. Pepper and a copy of "Bohemian Rhapsody", and I'll have the whole place down inside of a week.Baba wrote:Frieza2000 wrote:Every time someone posts song lyrics on a message board, an angel loses its wings. Come now, what this Stomps character needs is some sprite sheets, some Uekawa-styled art, and maybe some of that Japanese Sonic 1 manual stick-figure stuff. Stomps will forever be a symbol of SONICTEAM's decision to keep adding generic anthropomorphic characters of every species possible.
While I don't mind monster characters like Chaos Zero or Doom's Eye, Cream and Blaze will soon be shredded dog meat in shredded dog food cans. Big can stay, since he's not an attention whore and doesn't care about what people think of him. He's cool like that.

I dunno know. I don't mind Cream and Blaze, simply because SegaSonic went for years without a decent female character (this was back when Amy Rose was a sane, nondescript sort of girl who looked like Sonic's incestual sister), so I just think of them as rebound or whatever. While I don't mind monster characters like Chaos Zero or Doom's Eye, Cream and Blaze will soon be shredded dog meat in shredded dog food cans.
