Re: The Sribbletionary
Also typing in "Dragoon" or "Hussar" (both classes of cavalry introduced after the middle ages and after the 30 Years' War) gives you a medieval knight on foot with a sword.Zeta wrote:I've got it, it's pretty damn good, but not perfect. They reuse too many sprites for items that should be different. For instance, any predatory dinosaur looks like T-Rex, typing in Icthyosaurus just gives you a dolphin. Somtimes specific adjectives do something, sometimes they don't. For instance, ray will give you a sting-ray, ray gun a laser, and shrink ray a shrinking ray. But shrinking potion just gives you a bottle you can't do anything with. I think this game needs a sequel on the Wii, really. Some of the latter puzzles are really challenging, like really, really annoying. I recommend it, despite the few flaws.
I don't think this should have a sequel on the Wii though, writing or selecting letters with the Wiimote would be far too tedious. PC would be better, unless it would support keyboards (in which case it could just as well be released on any current console, and the GameCube).

When I ask for a Merman, it gives me a fish with the head of a lion. I'm not even sure HOW that's supposed to be close . . .

Re: The Sribbletionary
I have now completed THREE levels due to physics failure.
Re: The Sribbletionary
Usually that impedes me more than it helps. The game seems to randomly decide when or if physics affect something.

Re: The Sribbletionary
I was on one level where you had to get a soccer ball into a net. Somehow, some WAY, I managed to win...by typing in Cthulu. I also found out that Pterodactyls appear to be my "steed" of choice, as I almost always summon one when I need a ride or need to lift something.

Re: The Sribbletionary
Are the levels so expansive that you'd actually want a ride?

Sometimes you need to get somewhere high and a ladder or a box won't do.
Besides, why the fuck WOULDN'T you want to ride a pterodactyl? Personally I use Pegasus.

Same here.Delphine wrote:Personally I use Pegasus.
Also, did anyone else try "communist" and then "capitalist" (or "money", although that's much less entertaining)? If not, I would sincerely suggest so.

Re: The Sribbletionary
Hey, my current favorite trick is to make two gods and toss an atheist inbetween them.
Re: The Sribbletionary
I like to use the shrink ray to make escort NPCs pocket-sized and keep them in a bag. Still upset there's no Grow Ray.
Re: The Sribbletionary
Is there anything in this game that is capable of flipping a switch other than Maxwell? Or can only Maxwell flip switches?
I've tried tying various animals to the switch and then scaring them to make them run away from it, but none of them seem to be strong enough to flip it...

Re: The Sribbletionary
Only Maxwell, I believe.

A merlion, I guess.Zeta wrote:When I ask for a Merman, it gives me a fish with the head of a lion. I'm not even sure HOW that's supposed to be close . . .

I've dropped electronics in water and had the resulting shot-out/electrocution flip any underwater switches that were in range of the shock wave...Esrever wrote:Is there anything in this game that is capable of flipping a switch other than Maxwell? Or can only Maxwell flip switches?

Re: The Sribbletionary
Handcuffs + Vending Machine/Basket = Voilá, you've broken Scribblenauts.
Re: The Sribbletionary
Well that didn't take long. The game isn't even out across the pond.
Re: The Sribbletionary
So, does anything happen if you type Starite into it?

Re: The Sribbletionary
It does, actually - you get a replica you can toss around. Or at least, that's what I've heard.

Welp, this was fun, but I think I'll get Mario and Luigi RPG 3 instead. Thanks!Neo wrote:Oh no!Zeta wrote:typing in Icthyosaurus just gives you a dolphin.

"victory" or "win" both have the same effect.Brazillian Cara wrote:It does, actually - you get a replica you can toss around. Or at least, that's what I've heard.
