Do you own/would you buy a Crush 40 CD?

Post by The Doc »

Everybody here should know who Crush 40 is, so I won't bother going into detail like I normally enjoy doing. They had a CD released two years ago as of a week from tomorrow, yet it amazes me that these guys haven't gotten more media coverage. How the Hell Live and Learn didn't get on the Billboard charts at least once, but Sk8er Boi did is beyond me.

Well, if you want a link to the CD anyway, there's a link rightchere.

They made some songs of recent Sonic games, like Live and Learn, Sonic Heroes, What I'm Made Of... (Metal Sonic's theme), and, I think, Open your Heart. Most of them are good, Metal's theme is awesome, and Live and Learn...it's beautiful.

They did the opening themes for Sonic Adventures 1, 2, and Heroes. They also did the song "What I'm Made Of" in Sonic Heroes.

The rest of the CD, unfortunately, is not as good as the songs that were taken from the Adventure games. It's cheese-tacular.

Live and Learn is definitely the best song on the CD, but it's identical to the version on the SA2 soundtrack... which means that for whatever reason, that one track still sounds really gurgly and low-quality.

Yeah, I download one non Sonic related track from them a year ago, and it just wasn't good at all. It feel flat on it's face... badly. Maybe I just so happen to download the worst track they've ever done. Regardless, it turned me off to ever buying their album.

I have the album downloaded but I haven't actually listened to any of it. I doubt it's any good.

Whoever decided that cheesy faux 80's guitar rock should represent Sonic the Hedgehog video games ought to be kicked in the face by a mule.

"All the Way" wasn't too bad.

"Give me chills, give me thrills" was a rather nice chorus. For them, I guess.

Yeah i own it. I even have a signed copy of the Sonic Heroes soundtrack. I help administrate the official Jun Senoue site here - though i only do the news and keep an eye on the forums.

Though to be fair - the non-Sonic tracks were taken off a Sega Racing game - hence the bias in racing lyrics.[/url]

It'll come out the same time as Chinese Democracy.
If you didn't get that, well, you just suck.

It actually coming along faster than you think. I'm considering studying abroad there this summer instead of Japan or France which are my other two choices

Muke, I'm going to stab you in the face. Just tell me a geographical region, and I'll start hunting there.
