Re: Sonic and the Black Knight shark-jumping art contest

I don't think I've ever scanned anything hand-drawn, and I've been doodling Sonic in my notebooks since 2nd grade. But this contest is killer.

Re: Furry Pink Canoe

The company for which I started working in June pays a bonus that is a fraction of your pay multiplied by a factor that is dependent on the company's performance during the quarter. There are a couple of metrics that determine how large the factor is, and this last quarter, it did well in all of the...

Re: What do porn stars wear to job interviews?

Since it's possible to get decent volume out of it, it's probably not a hardware problem... From the "have you turned it off an back on" department: I suppose you've checked the Windows Control Panel's various volume settings? Some are often hidden. On Windows XP, double-click the volume icon to ope...

Re: Do you pee in the shower?

I think the relevant follow-up question is "And are you responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of said shower?"

In Seinfeld, George pees in the shower at the gym, but never mentions anything about doing it at home.

Re: Invention Of the Year: The iPhone

Samsung's Instinct is a cheaper alternative with better available data plans... I haven't experienced a need for a super phone before, but I would consider my MP3 player to be my favorite gadget ever. I can't stand being a pedestrian without it. Recently, though, I was playing with a demo of the Ins...

I was confused for a moment, and then I realized that my earlier statement of "I don't care whether it's on the right or left" was wrong. Way better on the left.

11 Years

On this day in 1997, Green Gibbon! announced that his new project, the Green Hill Zone, was out of development. That was 11 years ago. I finished college yesterday . I was just finishing 5th grade when I first started frequenting the GHZ. I was 11 at the time, and I'm 22 now (if my math is correct)....

Re: Dangerously skirting the commandments

Thanks for making quick work of that, kids. Sold to Oompa Star I also found this Sonic piggy bank. If anyone wants that, I'll send it at shipping + $0, otherwise it's going away. It's a cool picture of Sonic swag, anyway. Sonic has three rows of spines, which is kind of weird, and a really weird ski...

Re: Dangerously skirting the commandments

Yeah, the trading post thread could be revived...

I meant the sets come together. So if you want a Game Gear, you get all the games too. Same for the Genesis.

Dangerously skirting commandments b/w Pics of Sonic swag

I realize that this post probably runs afoul of the "Thou shalt not advertise thy shit" rule, but if you're interested: I'm graduating college this semester and moving out of state. My parents are also moving somewhere else. This means I'm having to clean out my closet of games and such. If you are ...

My mother send me this Sonic valentine, a relic from when I gave them to my class in elementary school. There were several more, but I think this is the only one I still have.

Re: What Sonic game is this?

Labyrinth was entertaining in a limited sense, but it was definitely not "Sonic game."

I also enjoyed G Sonic quite a bit, but I can see why it inspires animosity.

Shuffle, however, I hated very thoroughly. It was the first Sonic game I didn't finish and the next to last one I bought.

Re: Booger Dog

Oompa's stories reminded me of the time I got a shampoo bottle stuck on my finger. This happened when I was 13, but I've only recently been comfortable talking about it. I was taking a shower and using a mostly empty shampoo bottle. I didn't want to have to get another one out, and the lid's opening...

I got, among other things, Streetlight Manifesto's "Somewhere In The Between" from my sister. All ska fans who don't already have it would do well to pick it up. I also got some clothes from various relations and some books, including "Discover Your Inner Economist" by Tyler Cowen (highly recommende...

That's a brilliant idea, but I think according to http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/bb_code you still have to use square brackets.

Re: Update is here!

I don't mind the right-hand side user info anymore. It suddenly made sense to me. My wish list now includes: 1) GHZ theme - I can't the blue/ silver soft rounded scheme, so I hit zap on my Firefox toolbar to kill all styles. I'll help out on CSS theming if you need, NT. 2) Quick Reply 3) Log in from...

Stop your messing around You'd better think of your future It's time to straighten right out Or you'll wind up in jail ... I like that song. I always used to come up with words to video game BGM when I was a kid. The Green Hill Zone's music from Sonic 1 was always something like "fire is the devil's...

After the whole Kintobor thing, why listen to anything from SoE? I know it's lame to try to make the plot of a 16 year series of platformers coherent, but that whole storyline always irked me.

It really threw me when I read the spoiler about Jackle. I had to look it up.
