Being chased by Zero was pretty scary sometimes because you're so used to Sonic, but Amy's acceleration is pitifully slow. So there's this sort of, "Hurry up, you stupid bitch! He's gonna rape you! Argh!" panicy vibe you get whenever Zero would show up. When I play her stages, I definitely get the ...

I still like eating, anyway. Want somebody to bob your tongue so that we cover all the bases, then? Try approaching it from this angle: Now that you've admitted that there will never again be a (thing) so magnetic that it draws you in, hypnotizes you into believing it's the most awesomest thing eve...

It took a third sip for me to really identify what was so awful about this drink: It has the distinct flavor of cigarettes. Seriously, this stuff tastes like Steven Seagal himself put out his cigarette in this very can. I kept peeking inside the mouth hole to see if I could spot one floating around...

Get the Magnet Beam from Elec Man's stage before you attempt Ice Man. It's not only the way to go with the weakness circle; the beam lets you skip over all of the shooting platforms, with far less risk of falling to your death as you cross because you were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Gotten to Wily's Castle in Mega Man 2 yet? You are warned: the game tries to give you a seizure every time you defeat a boss, and the battle with the wall-mounted cannons is the ultimate proving ground for your patience, mad platforming skillz, and if you repeatedly lose to them, mental stability. A...

His legs look hideously deformed, and yes, the coat needs to be longer. Could just be a bad angle to look at him from (or so I hope).

The smile irks me, but everything else about that shirt is badass. I don't mind the "cracked" look, and i'd love to have that. Rats. It is still a little dissapointing that all we get this time is a t-shirt...I figured they'd put out a CD or something. I've found game shirts at Wal-Mart before. I go...

It's kinda sad they're downgraded to "time-fillers" (like typical Japanese business man playing Pong/ Pac-man on the train and so). There's a problem with that? The Genesis Sonics have always been arcade-style pick up and play games that anyone can get into, but the more devoted can experience it o...

I think every major malfunction with the game stems from a lack of balance everywhere you look. Offhand: Coins and 1ups are so ridiculously plentiful that if the screen displays the words "Game Over", it's because you gave the game to a six year old. The new power-ups aren't used in enough creative ...

A game's fate is not automatically sealed if its' concept doesn't sound like it's a sensible idea from the get-go. Wait, what? Presentator: "And that's our idea for a game. Will you let us make it?" Five? Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 might not have had the Sonicteam logo in there, but it certainly was Sonicteam at work. And, while you may not like to admit it, Sonic Team USA was part of Sonicteam as a whole (until they became SegaStudios USA). So that makes: Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic 3, S&K, Sonic CD, So...

There's just no love for the character or the franchise anymore. This has been especially evident in Shadow the Hedgehog and the recent TeamXbox interview for Sonic 2k6. "Oh, well, we were doing a new Sonic game anyways, we just decided to put a bit more effort into it because it's his 15th anniver...

Tough choice between Gamma/Chao/Emerl, but i'll give the nod to Gamma since there was always one thing in the Chao massacre and Emerl's death scenes that missed the mark. The Chao scene wasn't terribly tragic; in the end, they didn't all die out from that one event. Sonic's "Emerl lives on in the Em...

Because the star-patterned bumpers make a "Bo-bin!" sound when you bounce on them, in Sonic Team lexicon we call them bobins (laughs).
Then either they or I must have defective hearing. Sounds more like "PING!" to me. If you want "Bo-bin!", tag a lamp post.

The Sonic Team USA section reflects on E3. Somewhat amusingly, Wild Fire is being promoted as another return to the roots of the original Sonic the Hedgehog. I'm starting to wonder if they even know what the phrase "return to the roots" actually means! I asked myself that and then decided to stop g...

I can see how Blaze might fit into this. For starters, Rush's ending left the possibility for a follow-up story wide open. -- Before Sonic and Blaze landed the deathblow on the ultimate mecha, Nega droned on about his "incredibly profound scheme" and that this wasn't the end of it. He went on to say...

It seems like they'd prefer everyone to play it straight through in one sitting, like the original Mario Bros forced you to. I can tell, they stick the Warp Cannons right out in the open on the maps and hide the entrances to them cleverly. I found the entrance to World 2's cannon, but tempting as i...
