Oh, good! For a moment there, I was worried they'd introduce a new character that wasn't completely fucking annoying.Cubot’s voice processor is broken – and stuck on “cowboy mode”.

Re: Samus in Ninja Gaiden
My point was that they still had evil plans without Ridley or Mother Brain. The fact that they're hilariously incompetent in every game they appear in is a different story. I believe the question you should be asking, Silv, is: How do they does science team answer emails with giant pincers for hands...

Re: Samus in Ninja Gaiden
If Other M fails to acknowledge the Prime saga, it's probably because it is totally irrelevant to what's going on. That would be true if Other M didn't contradict some important factors from Prime . First you have Ridley's regeneration , which is handled in a completely different manner. Then you'v...

Re: Samus in Ninja Gaiden
If you notice carefully, Sakamoto never really wanted the Prime games to be considered part of the original Metroid series, which is evident in many interviews and even the secret developer comment on Samus's ship in Prime 3 . Nintendo has apparently adopted this philosophy as well , thanks to his i...

Re: Cherry popping
I first saw Sonic in TV commercials, but it wasn't until the first animated series that I got to like him (as a kid, the American artwork used in the commercials always made him seem angry to me, and that had some sort of negative impact on my interpretation of the character). My brother eventually ...

Re: Samus in Ninja Gaiden
I take it you've never played Fusion . This is basically it, except on steroids and with vomit-inducing drama. It's linear, Samus monologues a lot, you're on a spaceship that recreates earthly environments and you find out that one of the divisions contains Metroids that are being toyed with by the ...

Actually, that just means he speaks through body language and Sonic has to repeat everything he says in the form of a question so that the player will understand it.

Re: Hayao Miyazaki Compares iPad Use To Masturbation
I do too, just not to work. My point is that I don't feel the need to spend more time looking at a screen as soon as I get off work, but I also don't take long enough trips to warrant book reading or anything of the sort. So I just sit back and enjoy the ride.

Re: Hayao Miyazaki Compares iPad Use To Masturbation
I spend almost the entirety of my day working with computers. When I'm taking the tram, I'm thankful I have the opportunity of looking at a landscape instead of an electronic screen. Reflection can be done in much better locations and times with less distractions than a small enclosed space full of ...

Re: Nostalgia ain't what it used to be
Here, you lazy bum. In a way, it's pretty interesting to read the post in the front page and pinpoint the exact moment when the Sonic series started going straight to hell. I know that a lot of people never cared much for Sonic Adventure 2 (myself included), but I also remember being excited about ...

Why, that does not look extreme at all! How is a silly cheese wheel supposed to battle the forces of darkness and make snappy remarks that we cool kids can relate to?

Re: Super Sonic Galaxy
I think that's the whole point, actually. From what I understand, Eggman's trying to get people to go to his amusement park for some reason that hasn't been particularly clear yet. If you take a close look, some of the robots in the first level are even carrying welcome signs. I think it's a good ex...

Re: Return of the Heroic Amputee in 2D
As for Rayman, I only played the original version on GBA. Perhaps that one is terrible? It kind of reminded me of Pinobee. Edit: almost forgot something! If I were to get the first game, what version do I get? There appears to be 20 or so. Oh, that explains a lot. The GBA version is to the Playstat...

Re: Return of the Heroic Amputee in 2D
Characters are lifeless, the music is terrible, the platforming is so basic... It has nothing appealing in a bloated genre. Please do not tell me you've played the original game. I understand that some people might have issues with the sequels, but to say this about the first Rayman (which barely h...

Re: Super Sonic Galaxy
As for the behind the back segments, it looks like they're using those mostly for Sonic Unleashed-style strafing sections... where you are generally running and jumping along a straight highway, but have to avoid things by moving left and right. Am I the only one who can't see those segments as mor...

Re: Return of the Heroic Amputee in 2D
I would easily rank Rayman 3 above 2. The levels are more extensive and visually compelling, and there's an ass-load of secrets to find. The world is more surreal and much less grim than in the second game, which I personally think is a good thing. Even the music that goes along with the environment...

Re: Return of the Heroic Amputee in 2D
The Game Boy Advance version of Rayman 3 is pretty great. It's like a weird mix of the first three games rolled up into one - the gameplay is like the first game, but the music, graphics and characters are borrowed from both Rayman 2 and 3 (the console versions, that is). It even has Razorbeard and ...

Re: Return of the Heroic Amputee in 2D
The characters aren't usually retarded, but it's been hinted this was intentionally done so they can explain how Rayman became a hero in the first place. The game is supposed to be a prequel, as hinted by its name. I'm just glad they finally decided to make another Rayman platformer instead of anoth...
