At least Sonic 3 combined with Sonic & Knuckles made it worth the two price tags, even if it was a greedy tactic by SEGA to make more money.
Greedy tactic? They basically invented episodic content 10 years early. It just goes to show how original Sega were back then.

A) The "assets" you speak of weren't planned on actually being a part of any game specifically. That was just a tech demo. A "Behind closed doors, not-for-public-consumption" tech demo, at that. Technically we weren't even supposed to know that demo even existed. Regardless of whether anyone was su...

Sonicteam's main problem is they think they can still knock a Sonic game out in roughly 12 months and have it be this amazing piece of work. Sonicteam had a runtime and game assets back in E3 2005 in June. They had a lot longer than 12 months to produce the game. Even if they pulled that tech demo ...

Someone posted a scene from the last story of the game on youtube. What a bucket of cockshit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPcGGHtKqyQ OMG she kissed him. Hardcore girl-on-hedgehog action. That is so wrong! But the wave ocean video on that same page looks fcking awesome. http://www.youtube.com/wa...

These websites don't give bad previews to these games, because that would harm it's sales - and in harming it's sales, places like 1up don't get pre-release review copies.
By that logic, no magazine could risk giving a bad review either.

http://www.insidegamer.nl/xbox360/sonicthehedgehog/videos/1258 This trailer has me confused. We've all played the demo. We've all heard OCB's opinions on the final build. We've all read the lukewarm previews. In short, we all know this game is going to suck sweaty penis. But that video made it look...

Someone pointed out earlier that they're liking this game's music, and for the most part I'd have to agree. Its by no means top-quality music, but its the best we've had since SA1. I really enjoy track 1 and 3 on the game site, 2 is a bit weird though. Am I the only one who thinks all three of thos...

So yeah, like flash said, I played the PS3 and 360 versions of this game at TGS...I only played Sonic's game on the 360 version right before I left. It looked exactly the same as the current level, but I had fun playing it. It may be the same and I just didn't run into any glitches, or maybe it was...

Some people on GameFAQs are saying this demo is actually from E3 2005, which would explain why everything seems so poor. It's the E306 build. It can take up to two months to get a game demo out (what with bugs, quality control, tying-off non-demo areas and proving that they all work etc). Slapping ...

I played it for a few minutes at work today. Didn't love it. :( The good: - The controls are a lot tighter. The fact that you can't just hammer the homing attack button anymore diminishes the chances of accidentally homing off the edge of a platform. Also, you don't fly all over the place when you l...

How "very soon," you ask? Like, very soon, like sometime between September 22 and 24 soon.

HERE, maybe you can see it clearer now, compare them to Sonic's size now. Even in that shot, there is enough depth of field to suggest distance between the robots and the monks. Yes, that trailer seemed relatively well-scripted, not to mention pretty. It was ruined only by the hedgehog's size compared to the princess. It's like being rescued from an exploding building by a Disney World mascot in full costume. Agreed. Sonic's eyeball is bigger than Elise's head! it just loo...

Better to use engines that work than try to slap together their own and quite potentially fuck it up (hi Sonic Heroes), right?
Sonic Team didn't make the Sonic Heroes engine. Renderware did.
