Re: Sonic Generations

The elemental barriers were some of my favorite things in S3&K, so seeing them back after so long makes me quite happy. They added an extra layer of depth and made Sonic that much more enjoyable as a playable character. Which reminds me, I'd love it if they brought back Sonic's mid-air slash too.

Re: Guess the Sonic Generations Stages

I have some Idea what you guys (RR and Blount) are talking about, but do either of you care to elaborate on the specific things that Iizuka's done with Sonic that make sense in light of his being a Shadow fan? I think most people agree that Iizuka's decisions are very... divisive. Shadow is a prime...

Re: It's Dr. Eggman's 20th Birthday.

I listed most of the changes once (look towards the end of that page; quoting myself would be annoying because of the post length).

Overall, the GG version is more polished than the SMS one, but it's also much more frustrating.

Re: It's Dr. Eggman's 20th Birthday.

You think the first Master System game is harder than the second one? Why?
P.P.A. wrote:I have no idea why you would want to waste your time on the Game Gear ones
Agreed, especially in Sonic 2's case, where they made all kinds of stupid changes that arguably made it much worse.

You have to admire their effort, but fur just doesn't work with Sonic. Besides, what kind of sense does that make? You can't have fur on quills.

Re: Sonic Generations

Speaking of... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pk0PGC9Xx5c

It would be neat if Del's idea was used. Too bad Classic Sonic doesn't play as well in a 3D environment as Modern Sonic in 2D. The lack of a Homing Attack seems to make it especially hard to hit enemies.

Re: Guess the Sonic Generations Stages

Indeed, BUT: Gasp! You cheaters. City Escape is pretty much confirmed what with that one singer saying he did a new version of the music for the game. Frieza put City Escape in his list, which doesn't count. I am clearly the best at thinking like Sonic Team, and thus, hate myself now. I hope you're ...

Re: Sonic Generations

Why is Sonic CD not a "main" game? It had different ideas going on and it came out on a different console than the rest of the series at the time, but I don't see how that's any different from Colors , which is being represented. If anything, the former had the debut of two main characters and was r...

Re: Sonic Generations

I think anything from Sonic Heroes feels redundant, because all of its level archetypes had already been used in the classic games, except maybe the haunted mansion theme. The same goes for Rooftop Run for more obvious reasons. Planet Wisp at least has the excuse of having been a Wii exclusive up to...

If you're a person who makes frequent use of the Internet, chances are you have a connection of your own, thus eliminating the problem with installing games via Steam. If you bought them there, you really shouldn't be saying it's inconvenient when your connection goes down. As for their servers, thi...

Re: Sonic Generations

If you lose your Internet connection or the Steam servers go down while you're installing a game, just wait until it's fixed. This is only inconvenient if your computer isn't connected to the Internet to begin with, and in these days, that's not gonna happen unless you go on vacation to a cave or so...

Re: Sonic Generations

I'm not about to say Colors didn't have glitches, but I will say that I played the feces out of it last year, and I didn't come across anything like that. Unlike a lot of Sonic Team's efforts, that game felt polished. Hell, they even added extra springs and stuff for Super Sonic in the few parts tha...

That was spectacular! Not only does it seem really fun to play, it looks and sounds great too. I love how the music changes with what's going on at the moment. It makes the game feel even more like a cartoon and it gets really cute when the Lums start singing. Man, the Wii version isn't going to mak...

Peace Walker confirmed for both the PS3 and the 360. It will be a part of the newly announced Metal Gear Solid HD Collection , which will also include Sons of Liberty and Snake Eater . When I became a programmer I was worried that I'd be seeing code in my sleep but it's never happened. Oh, I actually do get that sometimes. I'm a programmer myself, and while I don't usually dream in code, it does happen whenever I spend too much time scripting, especially if I'm having trouble fin...

Re: A Dream

A few years ago, I had this recurring dream where I couldn't run, no matter how hard I tried. I always felt really heavy (like, I was practically glued to the ground) and struggled to move, and people in the dream would look at me and make fun of my situation. I think that may have had something to ...

Re: Sonic Generations

Yeah, the way Sonic leans out of the goal panel is a really nice touch. It reminds me of all the cereal mascots who have the same habit with their boxes at the end of commercials. It's amazing to see a character that has a fucking range of facial expressions. The only other one that even comes close...

Keep in mind, however that your credit card security code (sometimes called a CVC or CSC number) has not been obtained because we never requested it from anyone who has joined the PlayStation Network or Qriocity, and is therefore not stored anywhere in our system. UPDATE: While we do ask for CCV co...

Re: Guess the Sonic Generations Stages

Not quite. Heroes is connected to Shadow through story, graphics and gameplay (except one has team gimmicks and the other one has weapons). The same happens with the Advance series (plus Battle ), then the Rush games, then every console game since Unleashed , including half of Generations . The 2006...

Re: Guess the Sonic Generations Stages

The thought of having Sonic 4 levels in this game makes my head hurt. I'm willing to bet the Dreamcast era is going to be named something else and will encompass more than just the Adventure games. The modern era probably doesn't start until the 2006 game, but it's hard to tell because that particul...

Re: Guess the Sonic Generations Stages

You think they'll really narrow it down to the traditional number of 7 zones? 20 years is a lot of ground to cover! I'm kind of worried about that myself. Colors did have a ton of levels, but there wasn't a lot of visual variety and most levels were really short. I mean, yeah, they could just have ...

From the other topic: Maybe that's their strategy- load the game up with mostly Unleashed and Colors stages, changing next to nothing. It's less work that way. If this article is correct, we have confirmation that Colors levels will be featured. It says so near the bottom of the first page. It also ...
