Thematically, the train scene works as an echo of the first movie's bridge scene, where the New Yorkers come to Spidey's aid. Raimi favors theme over believability in all three films, which is both a gift and a curse.

Not liking the origin angle! Just jump straight into it -- we've heard this story a dozen times! Trailer's also desperately lacking in its dumb jokes/battle banter quota, a want that I also resent the Raimi films for. Seeing a lot of potential disappointment here, but it could be saved by the right ...

Toy Story 3 was overrated and the weakest of the trilogy, and I still say that everyone who loved it did so out of pure nostalgia. Dude, this is the point . That movie was made for people who grew up watching Toy Story. No other generation of audience, past or future, will be able to appreciate tha...

I was at trivia night at a bar last week, and one of the questions was, "Which video game console manufacturer was recently the victim of a hacker attack similar to that which Sony suffered?" I hesitated for a second, remembering this very thread, but submitted " Nintendo ." I was shamed before all ...

I ignored Alpha Protocol because I'm convinced Obsidian can only make mediocre follow-ups to stellar games -- in this case to Mass Effect. Honestly, the only first-hand experience I can use as evidence is KOTOR II, but I was disappointed by that game to the point where I am extremely hesitant to try...

I haven't touched a console Sonic game since Heroes, and even then it was three years after the fact. I've successfully avoided the Sonic Cycle for the last ten years.

But I'm buying this game.

I dreamed the plot of Thor a couple years ago while I was sleeping in the loft of the printing studio I was interning at. I realized this halfway through the film and had wicked deja vu.

It was probably just my brain fucking with me.

It was unholy then too, but that wasn't Sonic circa Nintendon't era. Seeing Classic Sonic up there is just wrong.

Button mashing was a great way of making me empathize with Snake in the microwave room in MGS4. That was a very powerful sequence. That's about the only time I can consider it having been used effectively.

Cave Story 3D undermines the very concept of the game. What an awful, awful idea.

Seeing Sonic on a Nintendo Power cover is all kinds of unholy, especially his 90's design.

Yeah, there's a significant amount of continuity between MGS3 and Peace Walker. Play in that order. You can play both without knowing anything about the other games, though there will be a lot of allusions that you'll miss.

That's exactly why it should be in! Same reason I chose Carnival Night and Metropolis, and same reason why I want Crazy Gadget (though I doubt they would go this far). I hope Emerald Coast, Emerald Hill, Mushroom Hill, or whatever other "first stages" aren't included at the expense of other levels. ...

Hell yeah Wipeout HD.

Dead Nation is a fun, hard, well-done top-down shooter. I wouldn't bother to play it by myself, but it's very fun with a friend.

Okay, I couldn't bring myself to cut anything from my B list, so it's a little out of control. I split it into two sections: legitimately good games, and games that I like, but wouldn't recommend to everybody. Good games: Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Kirby's Dream Land 2 (GB) Wario Land (GB) Batman Arkham A...

I don't play online enough to really care. Credit card uncertainty is scary, but I think we'd have heard by now if it was a problem. It's sadly ironic that this happened just after Portal 2, with its long-touted multi-platform co-op, released.
