I still haven't gotten around to the first Samurai yet, though if the dub is as bad as you're saying maybe I should be waiting for a chance to grab a Japanese version anyway. Is the sequel improved enough (or more-of-the-same enough) that I'd be better off just going straight to the one where I can ...

It seems like he's more lazy than anything else to me. His coloring is mechanical, he seems to have an eye for it at least (gradient-filled or not, that panel is somewhat striking) but he doesn't seem to think about what he's doing and the sheer number of coloring errors or misinterpretations sugges...

I had to go with Scrap Brain, it's the only one that really, truly mystifies me. Stuff like Panic Puppet or the "X Egg" stages strike me as more retarded than strange.

I once saw a VOOT machine going for a similar amount, and I with a similar amount in savings. I was so tempted I had to call a friend right then to talk me out of it. I don't know where I'd put the thing anyway.

StC seems to have the most mean-spirited version of Sonic I've seen. I don't think even in the games he was that ill-tempered. I noticed this too, I actually found it rather refreshing to see that "attitude" thing given the full on treatment the way they did. I don't know if I like it that much, bu...

When I read it, it was the older edition, which I thought ended at four volumes--I haven't missed anything besides a different translation and unflipped art, have I?

Is animeJunkies really gone? Can you "kill" a fansub group? Wouldn't they just regroup under a different name? Of course, of all the groups to kill that would be the best one.

When I was in the UK last year I got the chance to flip through a lot of old Edges and a few current ones, it really is a nice little magazine. I haven't opened an issue of Play Magazine in seven months. Has it gotten any better at all? It's the only game publication out now that could potentially b...

Although I have to say that Bill Watterson is quite the hypocrite. He judged comic books as a childish medium, when he constantly complains about people being prejudiced against comic strips and seeing it as a childish medium. Heh. "My work is a fantastic achievement because it's published in newsp...

What the hell! Did PlasticWingsBand edit his post? It looked like you had just said that wasn't the new one, which confused me, because she was lookin' pretty hot after all.

Ask the man with a stack of Gamefans (actually two stacks) and the will to rummage through them at a moment's notice: It's the Feb. 97 issue, Mario Kart 64 is on the cover.

Yeah. They also did the Armored Core games, Lost Kingdom 1 and 2, Evergrace, Otogi, etc. There isn't an especially good game in their entire repertoire. Don't forget Murakumo. Armored Core was good... ...and then the sequels killed it. I never liked the original Armored Core. Recently I pick...

Is it supposed to be this hard to Japanese players, or is there just some genetic physical difference in my American hands? I played through the whole thing, but I did break down and use a turbo controller towards the very end, it was getting too demanding and I wanted that game done. I think Taneo...

I remember seeing the preview for that on my Sega Screams Vol. 2 demo disc. It did look pretty weird, but I never played it. Was it any good? You don't play Mr. Bones because it is "good" (it isn't), you play it because you want to save a race of liliputian dwarves from hungry spiders, or to run ac...

It's Daidarn V, a really old anime Super Robot. The image is a slicker new version used to advertise a recent DVD re-release. I've never actually seen the show, which makes it even more a dubious choice for my avatar.

Well, there's nothing worse than being stuck, checking a FAQ, and seeing that it's unfinished, especially if it's unfinished to the point right before where you need help. I've noticed sometimes people seem to write FAQs as soon as they can, just trying to get recognition or something, or they'll st...

Wow, that wasn't nearly as interesting as I had hoped. Speaking as a so-called "artist" anyway. The middle painting with the tempura was sort of cool though.
