Re: Sonic R/3D anecdotes · StH OST remixes · Rivals in Jap

Iizuka states that he is pleased with the western sales figures and takes comfort in its success, as the game had a “hurried scheduledâ€￾ in order to be released in time for Christmas. Anyone else find this line greatly depressing? I read that as "hurray, rushing out crap works and quali...

You realise Adolf Hitler was chosen almost 70 years ago. I don't find it impossible that there has been a change in editorial direction since then. And I don't even know what you're trying to say with the "America-centered" thing, as suggesting that Rudy Giuliani would be less America-centric than O...

Yeah, because of all the things that could be taught in high school, tech support is definitely one of the most important.

About 20 people have played with our wii so far, and the only ones who haven't been enamoured with it are my parents (dad bought a PS3). It's really absurd how Wii Sports draws people in, and the decision to make it a packin seems totally justified now. About half a dozen people intended to get one ...

In contrast, I know quite a few people who played Sonic as one of their first video games and are still quite interested in the series. Much as my internet-fansite based assumption may not be an accurate representation of everyone in real life, neither is your assumption based on that one guy you k...

You guys do realise that there are plenty of older Sonic fans who actually enjoy the 3D Games, right? Sonic had the most fans back in the days of the Genesis. Common sense would suggest that they've grown up since then, and not everyone is as cynical as us here at the GHZ. You keep saying these thi...

You know most of the kids and their parents in the Sonic internet fanbase can't afford a PS3--at least right now. QFT. Whether Sonic fans want to buy a PS3 and whether they will buy a PS3 are two critically different questions. And the odds will stack up further against the PS3 for Sonic fans once ...

Cute. I dunno if you're referring to my post or the OP, so I'll assume you're referring to my post and if not, disregard this one. The Person of the Year is supposed to be he who "for better or worse, has most influenced events in the preceding year." If anyone has a plausible argument for why Giul...

dude, 80% of sonic fans now are kids, and kids like Nintendo not XBOX. and the other half is made of old fans like me, which if youre cool you will oviously get the PS3. Oh, right, right; it'll sell much better on PS3, especially the way it's flying off the shelves. I suppose you believe the "MS fo...

Time's been copping out since they named Giuliani over bin Laden in 2001, if not before.

It would appear that even among 360 games it debuted in 8th place, and then fell to 9th and then 10th place. Cluestick to Sega, perhaps?

Eh, if they get any hint it'll be to just keep releasing the same old tripe on Nintendo machines.

They're closer these days, at $130 v $200; with the PSP being unable to justify a 50% price gap, it'll be interesting to see the PS3 try to justify a 160% price gap.

Also what happened to Dragon Quest being the traditional series that toes the nostalgia line and sells zillions for it?

I've read about a dozen previews of the game and so far all of them have been positive and over half call it the game that finally makes Sonic worth playing again. I'm willing to give the controls the benefit of the doubt.

Er. All I see there is that they aren't localizing any more One Piece shows. Nothing in the reply gives any indication that the company as a whole is rolling over and dying. Did I miss out by not reading the whole seven pages of the topic, or does everyone just fail at reading comprehension?

At least when they had an unfinished product back then, you couldn't tell it was unfinished. Yeah. The difference being that back then, they had a functioning platform that they were developing from, and so really the development time had more influence over the quantity of content than quality , b...

However, Mircosoft wanted the 360 version to be out as quick as possible, so they forced Sega to get it out the door on its originally planned date. So the 360 version is an unfinished game! Releasing an unfinished game is a new low for sega, assuming this is true. ... Either way, this really is a ...

Failure has nothing to do with reviews and everything to do with sales, and in that respect the Sonic franchise is unfortunately succeeding.
