Why do they they deem it necessary to cram these unneeded and unliked characters in?

If Sonic was an American franchise I'd bet they'd have included a character creator years ago as the Sonic recoloring has become a genre in and of it's self.

I really do believe Mania is going to usher in an all new era of Sonic. At the moment Iizuka think's it just some niche thing, but when the sales figures come back I wouldn't be surprised if he has a complete re-think about the series. I personal don't believe Mania is going to out sell Sonic Force...

I hope there's not a whole lot of animation outside of advertising.

I'm shocked Allowed for so much development time and resources for what they see as a glorified advertisement. Someone at Sega must have really wanted to see a true to form 2D Sonic game come to fruition.
