Re: What are you playing today?

And if you want to get all the things without using a guide, you need to learn how to read the game's character set. This actually kind of intrigues me. Is it like a code? I keep seeing all these square patterns that I assume are meant to represent words. I assume there's a Rosetta Stone tucked awa...

Re: What are you playing today?

I played only one stage a week, but I still couldn't get through a level without cramping up in like half a dozen places. I had to stop for a break halfway through the Pandora stage.

Re: Incredibly mundane technical question, ver.2

Well, I have as yet had absolutely no luck identifying or solving the Mega-CD problem, so let's try something easier. Google. It used to be beautiful and simple, but their current business model seems to revolve around inventing new ways to be annoying. When I type things into the search bar, I want...

Re: What are you playing today?

I've never heard of that before. I had the disc drives on my first two PS3's crap out, but I don't recall any yellow light... Incidentally, I dropped out of Hikari Shinwa after the Pandora stage. Mechanically the game is just a mess. The further you play, the more the controls fall apart. I also don...

Re: Sweet Wheat & Sucrose Oats

Cuz bananas are usually what I eat for breakfast when I eat breakfast at all. It's hard to plan 5 consecutive breakfasts around bananas though, cause when I buy them in winter, they take too long to ripen and when I buy them in summer, they ripen too quickly. Cheap, though. Cereal is dessert, snack,...

Re: Sweet Wheat & Sucrose Oats

I've received an alarming report from my mother that cereal prices in the US have gone up to almost $5 a box, even at Walmart. That's about what they were when I was in Hawaii, but I figured the prices would've been higher there because they all had to be shipped from the mainland. Is there a grain ...

Re: Incredibly mundane technical question, ver.2

I noticed the problem is lessened when I set the "ReadAhead" option to 8x, but even then I'm still getting interference.

According to my brother, he's always had this problem. But what would make it happen out of the blue? There must be a way to fix it!

Re: Incredibly mundane technical question, ver.2

I am completely dumbfounded as to what change I evidently made to something somewhere in my system that has caused this to happen, but I think my best bet is to try some other virtual drive.

Other than Daemon Tools, what's a good one?

Re: What are you playing today?

I don't think the righthand circle pad is a good solution for aiming - it'd be too inaccurate and even worse than the touchpad. This is one of those situations where you'd really need motion control, which is again why I think this was conceived as a Wii game. Also, Kid Icarus is a stupid title I as...

Re: Incredibly mundane technical question, ver.2

Yeah, but I had that running before with no issues (most games will not play at all without it). And even when I turn it off, I still get the same problems.

Re: What are you playing today?

I popped in Shin Hikari Shinwa. It's a good game for people with three hands. It's also fun for those of us with only two, though I'm under the impression it's impossible to play comfortably. Even with the stand, I have to hunch myself over it so my back starts hurting about halfway through the stag...

Re: Incredibly mundane technical question, ver.2

So here's a new problem. For reasons I am unable to trace, booting an image in Fusion from Daemon Tools Lite - which is what I was doing before with no problems - now causes the sound and framerate to skip to the point of being unplayable. It runs alright if I load the CUE file directly in Fusion, b...

Re: It's a-me! Again!

In Nintendo's defense, laziness probably has nothing to do with it. Mario appeals largely to the casual market, and that crowd is incredibly sensitive to change. The more familiar the better. (New Mario Wii far outsold Mario Galaxy, didn't it?) That's a big fat slice of pie that Nintendo can't affor...

Re: I've never seen a less likable group of characters

Sony doesn't have mascots so much as characters they've tried to make mascots, but at least people still remember PaRappa. He was actually in my dream last night, the one I woke up a half hour early from. I do not remember in what capacity he was involved, or even if he was physically there so much ...

This is nothing like blogging. Hasn't this ever happened to any of you guys? It's completely bizarre. It's like a half hour in limbo. Being and not being. For 30 minutes you realize that everything you know is an illusion.

This is the deepest thread that's ever been posted here.
