It's from Japan, so of course the hair's going to look stupid.

Re: worldc2m3b15.wav
I got a pair of shoes! And some socks to go with it. Also some chocolates, money, and an impressive-looking travel bag for my impending overseas trip. And some miscellaneous stuff, like a 'genuine semi-precious gemstone', a wooden pen, and two small books covering the origin of stupid everyday phras...

As has-beens whose series have taken a turn for the worse, they'd fit right in to this game.

Re: Impromptu Intercontinental Travel
So you're cool with showing a clueless visitor around for a while? Not that I know whether a trip up there can fit into the 'schedule' yet, but anyway.

Re: Impromptu Intercontinental Travel
Are you even fluent in Jap... nevermind. Anyway I'm trying to figure out if those crazy rail passes we're supposed to get (that apparently let you go pretty much anywhere) include the Shinkansen, and if so how long it takes to get from Tokyo to... other places. Hakuba is apparently where the ski res...

Re: Impromptu Intercontinental Travel
They haven't totally planned out their trip either beyond the flight bookings, but essentially they're looking at 14 days. Roughly 4 days in Tokyo, 4-5 days at their ski resort, and another 4-5 days checking out places like Hiroshima before flying out on the 14th. How much I deviate from that depend...

Impromptu Intercontinental Travel
My brother and his wife are taking a skiing trip to Japan, and I'm strongly considering joining them. Only thing is, the opportunity only became known to me recently, so I would have to scramble for flight bookings and have things fairly planned out before Dec 30 (departure to Tokyo). Besides what t...

And it turns out Ian Flynn is far from done with romantic curveballs anyway - Sally x Monkey Khan (...) has been strongly hinted at in the latest story.

Re: What are you doing with your life?
Saving money from my dull but simple line of work, and occasionally spending it on frivolities. Feels good to have over ten grand laying about. I'm thinking of taking my first overseas holiday.
Being more productive artwise would be great too, but at the moment it's like walking through quicksand.

Way to intentionally misread the point. Along with glossing over all that other shit.Crazy Penguin wrote:Evil Sonic's been a recurring villain since #11. Why shouldn't he have a super form? I'm honestly surprised it hadn't been done earlier.

Re: You Had to Open Your Big Mouth
Sonic the Comic is a different beast altogether, it was made to resemble the then-official game plotline from day one. Archie meanwhile was a loose adaptation of the cartoon show, a completely different setting/history/characters/whatever. Whenever any idiot tries to jam the games into that round ho...

Re: You Had to Open Your Big Mouth
Unless 'tying up loose ends' stands for 'dredging up long-disused characters nobody was worried about and killing them off in atrociously heavy-handed fashion', I'd have to disagree. Or better yet, reviving old bit-players and giving them a major role, even if they appeared in five panels of a singl...

Re: You Had to Open Your Big Mouth
The term Mary Sue barely even makes sense in that context. It's not like their self-important culture was hailed as perfect or even correct, what's what the Dark Legion and Dingo conflicts were all about. Knuckles may ponder on which side's actually being a bigger dick, but he's still the one who sa...

Re: You Had to Open Your Big Mouth
Spaz designed most of those echidnas. Oops! In addition to a tacky design, the Finitevus character itself is banal. Hm, an albino echidna doctor/mad scientist. Haven't heard that one before. Corrupted with a Chaos Syphon? Yeah, they tread new ground with this one. ... Still, looking through that cha...

Re: You Had to Open Your Big Mouth
Wow, the classic Sega airbrushed style is hilariously inappropriate in that context. But hey, that's what people want the comic to do now right? To ape the style of the games? They probably asked Spaz to draw it like that. I suppose a franchise this divided can't avoid rampant schizophrenia, but Arc...

Re: You Had to Open Your Big Mouth
Yardley was perfect for the jokey lightweight material of Sonic X, but as UCHU points out, it makes any attempt at serious storytelling look completely retarded.

Re: You Had to Open Your Big Mouth
The current artist has a thing for comically exaggerated facial expressions. No matter the context. And applies to pretty much any character at any given time. It's amazing how something so over-the-top is made redundant with overuse.
