Re: Super Sonic Galaxy

It is obviously a different animal, I am sure you wouldn't enjoy it as much.

It's still retarded to near enough review a game through watching videos though.

Bunch of tracks from the soundtrack here. Trying not to listen to much, but it's funny just how completely and utterly this game's music destroy's the dogshit in Sonic 4.

Re: Super Sonic Galaxy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FD_NngzrL5I&feature=related A few of the music tracks here, mostly map themes. I like this part in particular. Also, IGN reviews of both Wii and DS . 8.5 each way. Main gripe with both seemed to be unfair difficulty spikes towards the end (unfortunately also apparently...

^He is not.

I'm pretty sure it's Kenji Yamamoto, i.e. the man behind the Prime trilogy's soundtrack and half of Super Metroid and Zero Mission.

I don't think it's this, but a Sonic & Mario Kart game would be amazing if done well.

Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010

I finished Sonic 4 yesterday with all the emeralds. And I actually had fun trying to get them Even the last stage that's an unforgiving nightmare where one tiny fucking mistake at the end and whoops, you're fucked? To be utterly honest I got through that stage by constantly pausing and unpausing th...

Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010

Blasted through the game in one sitting tonight. I enjoyed the experience more than disliked it, I'm fairly sure of that. I just made sure to actually play it the way it seemed Sega "wanted me" to. In other words, trying my damnest to ignore the physics issues and endlessly hold right whenever I was...

Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010

I thought the second one was alright for a handheld game, but the first Rush title is Sonic 06 quality. Yeah if you're severely brain damaged maybe. In 2005 Rush was more than just "the advance games again" for me because the boosting mechanic did actually feel fresh for a while and made speedruns ...

Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010

Wasn't there a price announced early on in development that was far, far more reasonable or am I making that up in my head? I swear I remember a price in the 3, rather than 4 digit price range being quoted. I guess perhaps the extra development time made them decide to up the price to recuperate cos...

Re: Daedalus must be proud.

I can't be arsed quoting anyone but I just wanna say on the whole Bowser/Koopa thing, when I was a kid I actually thought they were 2 separate characters and brothers. The Koopa kids were Koopa's children and Bowser was their uncle. Name changes through localisation are always confusing when you're ...

Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010

I got to play the demo at PAX myself. Yeah, making you unroll every time you hit the top of a hill and go into the air ruins everything. Can hardly attempt a pinball style multi-bounce attack anymore. That's a very good point, I'd never noticed before but that's actually pretty obviously one of the...

Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010

The only really negative thing I have to say regarding that video is that the sections where Sonic is running on top of a ball/boulder have some awkward looking animation. Other than that it looks fun enough to me. Nothing groundbreaking but I'm gradually getting the impression I'll at least "enjoy"...

Re: Super Sonic Galaxy

Robotnik's recoloured Robo-Sonics have to race each other and they consist of recoloured Sonic-models with antenna on their heads. So essentially Sonic Team are still totally retarded. At least stuff like the Werehog had some effort put into it (despite how poor the concept is) compared to this. Th...

Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010

About the Splash Hill theme. Sonic Team director Toshiyuki Nagahara really dislikes that song, though. He wanted me to compose a new one, but it was important to me, so I didn't change it (laughs). Oh that Jun Senoue... That's what directors are for goddammit. That song could be so much better. I w...

Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010

I really hope that in the end it doesn't turn out the staff have just been polishing the underlying turd to its shiniest. I still have absolutely no idea if this is actually fun to play. Lost Labyrinth definitely looks much better though than Splash Hill, but that was pretty apparent from the first ...

Re: Super Sonic Galaxy

I actually have no idea what people find so offensive about the Colours song. I liked the melody from the first teaser (ie when there were no vocals) and honestly...I don't give a flying fuck what they lyrics are saying. I find them bad enough to be hilarious in the kind of way that's meant I've end...

Re: Super Sonic Galaxy

I wish they'd release a direct feed trailer of the DS game, with ingame audio. Sonic Colours Wii already seems to be doing enough right to be at least "mediocre to decent" and I don't give a shit about seeing it in motion anymore. On the other hand I want to see if the DS game builds upon Rush Adven...

Your post matches pretty well with the exact response I anticipated! I'm glad you never disappoint. I don't really give a shit if it wasn't hi...

Re: Super Sonic Galaxy

Naganuma's music sounds like reject Japanese-techno girl-rap crap and is one of the worst Sonic OSTs I have ever heard. I would class it as Bentley Jones quality. Yeah I mean fuck GOD FORBID the music have a remote sense of originality or personality about it. Get these quirky beats the fuck out of...

Re: Super Sonic Galaxy

I really hope the DS version of Colours has a far better soundtrack than Rush Adventure had. Sure, the gameplay for Rush Adventure was good enough, but the loss of Naganuma pretty much entirely destroyed the personality of the game. Like, the original only truly has a soul because of its bizarre mus...

So I can play another poor untweaked version of Sonic Adventure? Fantastic!

I like how now whenever he's interviewed they always highlight Iizuka's involvement with Sonic 3 & Knuckles and completely ignore the fact he's been neck deep in the cesspool of shit for the last 10 years, with a contribution to some degree in virtually everything that's been fucking terrible.

Re: Super Sonic Galaxy

I'm interested in the DS version. I at least like the sound of the gameplay concepts in theory. The alien Wisps featured in the game each have a unique “Color Power” that, once freed, Sonic is able to absorb while speeding through the various theme park inspired planets. The Wisp energy enables Soni...

Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010

The very fact they've chosen to delay the title based on quality issues gives me a slight slither of hope for the game again. Only 3 issues had made me think the game looked "bad". The floaty jumping, the minecart level and the casino score challenge level. If all of these issues are addressed (and ...
