Re: On the topic of animated fat men...
My favorite shorts from the "golden age" are the ones that make high use of music and its marriage to animation. Fantasia is probably the best example of this, though I don't necessarily want all animation to attempt to elevate animation into a "higher art" like Fantasia does (it's nice in certain d...

PS3 recommendations
So I finally got a 46" HDTV about a week ago, goodbye CRT TV! Anyway now I can buy PS3 games and not feel like I'm missing out on superior image quality! I'm in the middle of Metal Gear Solid 4 Anyway, so far I've played and completed God of War 3 Resident Evil 5 Uncharted 1-3 Flower Red Dead Redemp...

Re: Don't step in the Pharaoh
They even admit in the bonus videos that they thought of all the levels and scenarios first before stringing them all together in a haphazard plot!

Re: Don't step in the Pharaoh
When it got released I noticed a bunch of people say they had problems with the aiming, but I never had an issue with it. Just point and shoot, how different can that concept be? But I've yet to start Uncharted 2 and I only finished Uncharted 1 about 2 days ago, but as someone who doesn't competitiv...

Re: Sonic Generations
Not even feeling, like, anger or disgust, just feeling... totally numb. Like: this is beyond me. Though I used to be extremely loyal to the Sonic name, these days I'm very indifferent. I did play Colors and I do like some aspects of it, particularly how it reminded of older games in how you can't e...

I'm a Sony Game Tester. I'm currently on a title that will be released in November. The game's extremely beautiful to look at. I will have to echo GG! that the only possible way they can be making a profit from this is if they've got a south Asian sweatshop where droves of dirty 10-year old kids are...

Re: What are you playing today?
I love Part 2. If you played and loved the 1st, the second pretty much trumps the 1st in terms of like improving everything, I can't even play the 1st one without the nagging feeling in the back of my head of how inferior it is to Part 2. The gameplay is the same, but a lot of subtleties, such as th...

Re: What are you playing today?
I recently played and finished Red Dead Redemption, at the vehement request of someone at work, because when you're a Game Tester you seldom want to play games in your OWN LEISURE time, so it's like the first game I've played and completed during my own leisure time with this amount of depth in a lo...

Re: There is a Sonic webcomic and it is ok
This reminds me of stuff I used to do in Sonic games: Spend stretches of time in Sping Yard in those half pipes to see how high I could get Intentionally misspell Eggman in the Egg Carrier puzzle for stretches of time because it took a while for the get-hit-by-a-wash-bin gag to wear off You know how...

I don't collect gaming systems, but I did recently obtain every single Japanese Dreamcast Magazine. Okay, actually one issue is missing but it's pretty close. So much Sakura Taisen coverage that it makes me want to play the series. Speaking of which, I played an hour or two of the localized Sakura W...

Found a Sonic cameo not listed in the cameos section
Was looking into Sega games and I found out Sonic has a cameo as a large statue in Spikeout: Battle Street for the X-Box. You can find it in this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOXWEBuD ... re=related
and the Sonic cameo starts at 7 minutes in.

Re: Shinobi is back
I started playing Shinobi (PS2) about a week ago. Shit's hard, I'm currently on Super mode trying to get all the Oboro Clan Coins. The difficulty kind of reminds me of when I was a toddler playing impossibly hard games but I managed to beat them anyway. Under normal circumstances (meaning having to ...

Re: Guess the Sonic Generations Stages
Speed Highway is probably one of my least favorite Sonic Adventure levels, if not my least. Still pretty good though.
Methinks a good representative level from Sonic Adventure would be Lost World, since it contains the Mayan influences the title largely had.
Ah well, it's to be expected.

Mega Man 10 is the only Mega Man game in the main series I haven't beat. I got to Wily's Fortress and I think I beat the Weapon Archive stage but I don't think I got much farther than that after. I guess I don't have the patience for beating a Wily Fortress in one sitting anymore. I also think that ...

Re: Phoenix Wright X Professor Layton announced. (Level 5, 3
My relationship with the Layton games is the same as almost all Level-5 stuff: It looks charming, it looks great, it looks polished, but the storytelling is woefully predictable and boring. Sometimes this works (Dragon Quest VIII) and sometimes it doesn't (Rogue Galaxy). With Layton... it's pretty m...

Re: Daedalus must be proud.
Sometimes, I wonder about how something should be translated when I play the Japanese version of the game. For example, in Mario Galaxy, when Luigi gets a start and stops getting them and tells Mario he's stops doing them, it's because it's such a "neck stretcher", which I assume means something lik...

Well, America has Captain America and Wonder Woman, comic book icons who have their origins in World War 2. Anyway, my favorite Ghibli movies are Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Porco Rosso, and Kiki's Delivery Service. Howl did feel really random, and I reiterate what everyone says by saying it ...

Re: Concept Artwork For "Epic Mickey" from Warren Spector
Steamboat Willie wasn't the first Mickey Mouse short! Yea, I believe Plane Crazy was made and released first as a silent cartoon before they later "remade" it by adding synchronized sound. I don't think it really had a very good reception so I guess the bigwigs decided his birth would be the cartoo...

Re: Concept Artwork For "Epic Mickey" from Warren Spector
Though at least 90% of the world knows who Mickey is and that his first released short was Steamboat Willie, I bet at least 90% of the people who know Mickey is has never watched Steamboat Willie. His most famous and most watched short is probably the Sorcerer's Apprentice. I also feel Apprentice is...

Pixar even goes as far as changing all the background signs, altering any Americanesque sight gags, and generally doing everything possible to realign the film with the region where it is being shown Actually I find it pretty impressive that they go this extra mile to localize it. In a way it shows...

Re: Members save an additional 10%
I got Mario Galaxy 2 earlier this week and I've played a bit, it's pretty nice so far, nice new power ups to screw around it. It doesn't have that "oomph" the previous did but I guess that goes without saying. Only beaten the first World (with minimum Power Stars) and I imagine there's about six of ...
