Re: Dinsey's Wreck-It Ralph: A love-letter to videogames

It's only ridiculous because you're putting words into people's mouths to make it sound ridiculous. Nobody here is saying "Pixar's movies are terrible because they don't have female leads". They're saying "It's a shame that they reflect how commonplace it is for male characters to dominate rather th...

Actually it seems to be more "early 20th century commercial illustration with 1960s industrial design elements".

As far as comparing the Heavy to Mr Incredible goes, I think that's more that they drew from the same sources (60s advertising).

Yeah, I'm not familiar enough to recognise the Beholder and Altered Beast cameos but that's what I've seen others identify them as. Nobody seems to be able to agree on the identity of the yellow robot and the demon girl in that group, though.

Re: Dinsey's Wreck-It Ralph: A love-letter to videogames

There's a trailer now. Probably the same preview that was being talked about in the OP's quotation. http://entertainment.msn.com/video/?videoId=96bb77a5-e38e-4539-ab8f-a5ed3127b6ed&ocid=vt_twmsnmov It leaves me feeling a bit underwhelmed. The animation and acting look the same as in every CG movie m...

Re: Who left all these propane tanks lying around anyway?

I think the furor is partly fuelled by a more general resentment towards Bioware/EA as a result of an attitude towards their customers that seems to have become apparent as of late. I think it started with the new Star Wars MMO, not just because of a perceived lack of quality, but also because they ...

Actually it was World of Warcraft that turned epic into what it is now (I have this from a friend who played it for years and years).

Sorry, I have nothing else to contribute. :[

I'm a big fan of Toblerone, too. I've also been trying out those Lindt bars alot lately, as it happens, and what I've had has been pretty good. One of them had sea salt in it, though it sadly wasn't enough to really change the flavour all that much, I just got a bit of a salty tang in the odd bite, ...

I just noticed that there's also a really obvious seam in the second background layer and that the blocky cliffside has a completely straight cut-off edge rather than indenting where it should. It's a cornucopia of bad design!

I see the Gimmick Mountain Zone boss making its return as a bog-standard badnik in one of those.

Also it seems Tails can actually pull Sonic upwards underwater now.

Re: making a comic book

Yeah, having a table at a con is a great way to go about it. However, it helps alot if you have a bit more than just your little comic book, since even at the splurgetastic spendathon that is a con, not everyone's willing to drop a couple of dollars for an unknown comic book, and would rather get so...

Re: Does this make me gay?

What, the related video is a parody or the original video is a parody? If the former I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion since it's a pretty straightforward and clear explanation. If the latter then, well... yeah, while "parody" is certainly a different word from "hoax" they both mean it is...

Re: Sonic 4 Episode 2 Not to Come until 2012

Well, Tails is leaning back in the original to match Sonic's line of action rather than mirror it as you're saying, but you're basically right. It's to be expected, though, they only ever produce artwork of individual characters floating in space these days, even when it's at least drawn like for th...

Re: This confuses me too deeply to think of a title

The most confusing thing was that they used the old Sonic 2 Super Sonic theme and the 1-up music from Sonic 3 but not Classic Sonic. The fact that the doesn't talk (in the mode of his classic version) makes it weirder.

(not that I actually disliked any of these things!)

Man, I've never understood how people can find sashimi (I assume this is what people really mean when they say this about "sushi") hard to palate. I never had a problem with it, and would happily gobble down any amount of almost anything I was given. Never knew about shirako, but I'd try it given th...

Yeah, it's not something you'd ever actually see unless you were looking for it. Mostly people only notice/remember the standard figure-8 shape, but it actually got played with alot in the Sonic CD intro. Here's some example frames.

Either way what you did looks great!

Awesome as always! I love how you mixed the standard rubber-band feet with the zig-zaggy lightning feet that appear in like one out of every four frames of the intro animation. Was that a conscious reference or just your own stylistic twist?

I basically agree with the above. On his Simpsons opening, for example, I liked some bits but hated others. Bart was hilarious and looked really cool, but Marge's walk is simply unreadable. This happens alot when he does the straight-ahead animation thing that he's yammered on about on his blog coun...
