Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010
...this game is arriving in the wake of TEN FUCKING YEARS of terrible decisions and disappointment. Strictly speaking, more like six - the problem was present earlier, depending on one's point of view (after all, Sonic Adventure DX was of questionable quality), but I'd say it really started around ...

Re: What are you playing today?
I played Fusion , Prime , Metroid (NES), Super , Prime 2 , Zero Mission , Prime 3 and Metroid 2 in that order (might have Prime 2 and Zero Mission mixed up). Of those, I think the only one I haven't finished is Prime 3 . The first Metroid has aged TERRIBLY, to be blunt - lack of the map notwithstand...

Re: What are you playing today?
Y'know, I've been wondering. Xenogears was made by Square. Xenosaga was made by Namco. Apparently they're related, despite the company gap there? I've never played either title (well, series , in the case of -saga ), but even then, I've been wondering what the relation was. Same developer or somethi...

Re: Samus in Ninja Gaiden
I would. It'd be a first-person swordfighting game. The first thing I'd imagine would come to anyone's mind is Elder Scrolls (or the Demoman's Eyelander from TF2 , although that introduces the "bringing a sword to a gunfight" issue). Granted, I'd imagine combat might turn out to play a little more s...

Re: Samus in Ninja Gaiden
You should have just said it'd play like Elder Scrolls. That might have alleviated their concern quite a bit.
Or maybe it'd have exaggerated it, depending on how much they liked or hated Oblivion.

Re: Sega announces Sonic & SEGA All-Star Racing
I only owned The Even More Incredible Machine and both Contraptions games (the first of which is more or less The Incredible Machine 3 , but prettier). Still a damn fine series. I regret that Activision is more concerned with running Call of Duty into the ground (seriously, wtf are they doing to Inf...

Re: Samus in Ninja Gaiden
I dunno, as a sidegame, a Metroid rail-shooter could've been pretty friggin' awesome. I'd just put it on the same pedestal as Metroid Prime Pinball, another well-made but ultimately forgettable title.

Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010
I actually wanted to see something of the opposite - you start off fighting the giant behemoth (hopefully a robotic, Eggman-controlled one) as Super Sonic, as per the cliche - but then he gets wise to your act and whacks you out of it, a la the intro of Unleashed . Except, instead of turning you int...

Consider that a good deal of the music was written either by Dreams Come True or the late Michael Jackson.

Re: Mega Man 10 Announced.
I remember getting my ass handed to me a lot by the trucks in Nitro Man's stage when I bought the game back on Monday. Chill Man's stage was similarly hard, but that was more of a case of me knowingly failing some really, really simple maneuvers. I'm sure revisiting both will prove to be less diffic...

does the companion cube show tit You kidding? The Companion Cube doesn't even wear clothes. Chew on that for a while, don't you. All things considered, the Vitality Sensor is INCREDIBLY in touch with Nintendo's userbase. The kind that goes out, sees Wii Fit for $80, and grabs that shit up, desiring to try it out just after they complete a session of Wii Music and a slight workout in Wii Sports tennis. You just know they'll bu...

Re: GHZ Museum/Encyclopedia fact checking & ect. thread
I remember liking it enough to play through most of Team Sonic's campaign, although I never got farther than Mystic Mansion's boss. I couldn't deny the game was flawed as shit, though, and really was the beginning of the end (if you don't attribute that to Sonic Adventure 2 instead).

Re: SEGA's Leak of the Month
Labyrinth is a bit of a guilty pleasure, honestly. I know it's hardly a good game - you can't tell what powerups are, you trudge around insanely slowly unless you're spin-dashing in which case you bounce around uncontrollably, the boss fights blow chunks, etc - but for some reason, I still kind of ...

Oh, right, I know what you're saying now. They talk about how you WOULD have unlocked the achievement if you owned the full thing, right?
...still, they don't actually give you the achievement, so what I said is still true.
