However, I am enjoying the manly RPG that said demo accompanied: Dragon Quest 8. I'm about 30 hours in and it has stayed consistanly good so far(though it's a bit of a cheat that you can't warp to all of the towns you've visited). It's a breath of fresh air when Final Fantasy is the only big RPG di...

Its an alright game... for 10 or 15 bucks. When you pay 40 bucks for it like I did back in the day, that meager 5 hours of gameplay leaves you kind of bitter.

I signed up for Blockbuster Online awhile back, and while they only rent out movies, I signed up during some special promotion they were running where they give me a two free coupons a month for renting games at a brick-and-mortar Blockbuster. I heard they don't do the game coupon thing anymore with...

SMB3 let you ride in a giant shoe and let you dress Mario up like a frog.

That's why SMB3 is fucking awesome.

I thought the multiplayer was fun... Well, fun for a few days, until you realize you can win by just spamming your opponent with fireballs. Just like no Sonic game can seem to live up to Sonic 3 (though Sonic Adventure was close,) no Mario game can seem to surpass Mario 3 (though Mario 64 was close....

A friend of mine actually went to some Gackt/Dir-En-Grey concert they held in America, and he said that Gackt cut himself on stage.

Maybe he's not effeminate and weird, he's just emo.

I would kill for some sort of Lucasarts adventure game compilation containing the Monkey Island games, Sam and Max, Full Throttle and Grim Fandango. I wouldn't kill for it, but I'd... uh, seriously injure someone to get my hands on a compilation of the old Shinobi games. The old Genesis ones, maybe ...

Huh. If you're gonna steal somebody else's idea, at least try to improve upon it. Or at least make it work just as well. What's the point of a tilt sensor without a motion sensor? Is every game going to have an option to tilt my gun sideways gangsta-style? Outside of a motorcycle or flight sim game,...

I'm still excited about The Revolution (I said Revolution on purpose), but I refuse to call it the Wii. The system was going to be hard enough to market to the mainstream due to the fact that it was already so different from everything else out there, and now that it has the most retarded name in th...

I wish my college assigned projects like that :P. Anyway, I was playing Samurai Legend Musashi awhile back and realized it really isn't that bad. The voice-acting and story is shit, and the game starts off slow and repetitive, but the fighting actually gets pretty fun once you learn some extra techn...

Yeah, the whole fever mode seems like it was put in for learning-disabled players who can't figure out how to create chains on their own. It totally screws up the balance of the game. It's like playing Tetris with only those straight pieces.

Psychonauts is hands down my favorite Xbox game (yes, that's including Halo and KotOR). Not only is it an amazingly well designed platformer (quite rare these days), it's also geniunely funny... Does anyone else get the feeling that Nintendo is using Twilight Princess to not only cap off the Gamecube's lifespan, but to also fill a gap in the Revolution's launch? I get the feeling that the Rev. will ship with some half-assed launch titles and Nintendo will rely on the guaranteed awesomeness ...

Re: Games you hated at first but grew on you or were later l

Two of these games are Ico and Shenmue. I'm going to pistol whip you. Anyway, I actually kinda hated PSO at first. The targeting system and combo system really pissed me off for the first hour or so, but once I acclimated myself to it, the game became one of my favorites. PSO Card Battle is a game ...

Given Nintendo's recent sequel-streak, I'm surprised they haven't released an updated Yoshi's Island-style platformer. I'm pretty sure it would work just as well in 3d as it would in 2d.

We seriously need more games that look like they were drawn with crayon.

I didn't mind the whole theatre-motif that 3 had going. Plus 3 had far more interesting levels and items-- I'm not sure what you have to smoke to think of using a giant boot or a racoon suit as a power-up, but I want some. Plus, all those airship/tank/boat levels near the end were awesome. It actual...

Gameplay footage of Ryu Ga Gotoku gives me the impression that the combat system may be extremely sluggish. A bunch of impressions that I've read said the fights play like Spikeout.
